I've also self-injected T for 4 or 5 years. I did notice an increase in libido, and also energy.
I too get the 10ml vial for $60. It lasts me 6 months or 26 shots. My needles are a bit more user friendly; 25gauge, 1" long. They do take a while to fill, but they do fill eventually. I inject in the upper buttocks. Several times, I've had the needle separate from the syringe if I inject it too fast.

Inject testosterone weekly.
Implant on 1/22/19 by Dr Avila.
Scrotal, hor. incision just over 1"
18cm AMS 700 CX, 3.5cm RTE 100cc res
Gleason 6 prostate cancer. Monitoring it for now.
Update: On my last biopsies the cancer wasn't found.

I have syringes with 18g needles I slurp it out of the bottle with. I then change the needle to 23g for the injection. Actually my wife is nice enough to stick me in the ass cheek with it. It helps a bit with libido and energy but doesn't do a thing for my ED but of course my Ed is from RP surgery.

As I said, the T injections didn't do much for my ED. But they produced noticeable muscle definition, especially in my arms. I was around 72 or 73 at the time. I wasn't ripped by any means, but my biceps looked like they did when I was in my 30s and doing regular manual labor. The effect isn't as pronounced now that I'm 76.

Flannigan,
It's costing me $500 a month so if I don't see some major improvement in short order I will probably stop taking it
After my Insurance company stopped paying for the "gel" ... I switched to Clomifene.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clomifene
Clomifene is sometimes used in the treatment of male hypogonadism as an alternative to testosterone replacement therapy. It has been found to increase testosterone levels by 2- to 2.5-fold in hypogonadal men

Go to: http://www.alldaychemist.com/ and enter: Clomiphene Citrate
I have been taking this for years ... the 50mg tablet upped my T-score to 650 ... for $.33 per day ... it's best if you order several months worth as the shipping is a flat rate of $25 and takes about 2 weeks to arrive ... (no script required)

Just a word of caution. My primary issue is diabetes. However, when my T level dropped below 290, my uro prescribed androgel which increased my T level to over 800 after six months. Although it significantly increased my libedo, it did nothing for my ED. Also, my endocrinologist noticed that my PSA started to rise and recommended I phase out of TRT.

During the phase out period, my T level dropped to 190 but eventually returned to 300. Apparently, the introduction of exogenous T caused my body to reduce the production of natural T which took six months to return back to 300.

Dtwarren, Thanks for the info. I will be monitoring everything closely as I have heard that TRT can raise your PSA. Thankfully my PSA has always been quite low but I will be keeping an eye out on it. I am trying to determine the root cause of my ED issue and I feel that the first step is to raise my T level to hopefully the mid 700 range and then see how I feel and take it from there.
Cheers

Flannigan..my T was horribly low. In am talking not even 3 digits. I started replacement therapy. I also have other serious healthnissues...ie implanted pain infusion system..asthma..kidney disease...anyway..after my T levels got boosted and I dopped some much needed weight...my erections got great again...I was taking 200mg of the big V..with hit or miss success...Now..I use the generic Viagra and take either 20 or 40 mgs just because my Dr said it would not hurt and guys mind set sometimes plays with your head. Things are terrific for me...and the few days right after my weekly low T shot...i am all me...no extra reinforcement . I never would have thought I would see this type improvement...you and me are basically the same age. I am 54. I wish you much success.

Seeking info..aka Scott

Ps..I have been on replacement for years and my PSA remains unaffected...but I am diligent in having it checked
Medically retired. Due to very bad back issues..multiple surgeries. Implanted pain infusion system on long term opiodal meds; hypogonadism and hypothyroid as a side effect from intrathecal pain infusion system. Use low dose generic V

I started HRT about 6 years ago. For a variety of reasons, I went off of therapy about 4 times. The first was tied to travel and inability to keep up with the protocol. But after that, after about 4 to 6 months on, ED (to a lesser or greater extent) would pop up.

I always tied this to my inability to get a good erection to keep estrogen in check, going too high, or too low. Even though my labs would seem to indicate, on most occasions, that I was in the sweet spot.

At first, just a little softer or it took much longer to get erect. Sometimes, even masturbation was a problem. Was certain that HRT was the cause, not the correction of my ED issues. I have come to realize that the onset of my ED and the start of HRT were coincidental, and one did not cause the other. Quite frankly, when I wasn't on HRT, my sex drive was lower, consequently the ED wasn't as much of an issue. And certainly, HRT did not cure my ED. It made it more evident actually.

My work is pretty physical, and I also like to keep in shape and it got to the point where not being on T was not an option. Went on a creme this time, plus injections and seemed to be doing well, and then it started again. Soft or non existent erections. My last Trimix priapism did a number on me.

Everyone is different. I am sure there are guys that do see there ED improve on HRT/T. For me, not the case.

Thanks for the reply. I am very interested in what you had to say. I went it for my first visit for Trimix. I told the doc my situation and he made a light formula. My dick felt like it was going to explode. It was so painful I couldn't take it. They had to give me to antidote injections before I could stand it and I still went home and banged my girlfriend like a porn star for an hour. I could not believe the results and frankly I am a little nervous to try it again but I did sign up for a 6 month program for $1100 !! Those bastards really love to prey on men that just want to get laid.

So I am curious when you say your last priapism really did a number on you. Did you have to go to the hospital ? What happened if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks
