My Theory: A Systemic/Chronic Infection

Postby defiant » Fri Sep 02, 2016 8:50 am

Because I'm at my wits-end and this condition really threatens to send me to the next stage as it were, I'm really assessing my body carefully and trying to deduce the cause for this. Because I really cannot accept the two 'specialist' teams' diagnosis that this is purely psychogenic.

I have a theory - please if you could hear me out and offer your informed opinions that would be great.

So I'm 32 now. When I was 18 I came back from the Philippines. During my time there I had a sexual encounter with a prostitute. It was a 'gift' from my cousin. I was young and dumb. Of course I accepted. It was unprotected but I didn't insert. I wasn't able to. She was too tight.

I came back to the UK and a week later I got very very sick. Flu like symptoms. This eventually abated but I had a very strange tongue. It was geographic and thrush-like. I went to my family doctor and he didn't take much notice of it.

I was very very very worried I had contracted HIV. The symptoms fit! It scared me senseless to the point I didn't seek medical attention for fear of the stigma that has been attached to it. Even though there shouldn't be a stigma. It took well over 3 years for me to get checked. I had NO HIV.

Since the age of 18 though, I have had this constant yellow tongue, often hairy at the back. Sometimes I will get blemishes consistent with Geographic Tongue.

My theory is that for 14 years I may have been harbouring some kind of systemic condition/infection/deficiency that has gone undiagnosed. It may even very well be the cause for my cancer (lymphoma) at 26. And it could surely account for a decline in erectile function.

To date, my tongue has a yellowish appearance and the hairs are more pronounced than a normal tongue. Though the georgraphic blemish episodes are much less frequent.

Today I will see my GP, family doctor, who had a long background as a dentist and explain this all. But what do you guys think? Does my theory seem plausible?

Chronic Yeast infections are a real phenomena and can cause erectile dysfunction.

I hope if this is the case that the damage isn't permanent or that it can be reversed to some extent through anti fungal therapy and adjustments to diet!
37, mild to moderate ED since age 21, 3 Dopplers - 1 result VL & 3 later results 'no physical problem', dependent on cialis (efficacy now waning), overcame Lymophoma at age 26, ED causing immense/profound psychological distress. Considering implant.

You seem to speculate with everything possible, and that is something you can keep doing until the end. It's a fact that there's a lot of men suffering from organic ED regardless of getting clean score from the ultrasound. This is because the ultrasound only studies venous conditions. If ultrasound is clean but the ED is persistent the cause is often determined to be of neurogenic origin. This area is far more complex but causes the exact same issues as venous leak for example.

Either your penis works or doesn't. Difference between mental vs organic ED is that the latter is persistent. Are you ever able to obtain and maintain erections under any conditions? If not, and this has been going on for years, you have organic ED, and the only cure is to learn to live with it.

For a long time I could maintain them unaided with my then girlfriend but this anxiety has always been with me and has grown year by year.

Sometimes I wake with an erection, rarely, but it will subside quickly.

Up until recently Cialis could help me maintain an erection indefinitely. But due to a lot of increased anxiety and a bad episode my anxiety around drug failure has increased.

When I abstain for long periods and watch porn, I become aroused quickly and am able to maintain an erection with little to no stimuli for a decent amount of time.

It's so hard to gauge.
