I've just recently discovered this forum, and have begun reading through some of the postings. I have a tentative appointment with my uro for early August. I've had a couple of major surgeries over the years. I'm 65, and considering having an implant. I have many questions, and concerns, but one of the major concerns for me is the pain after the procedure. I will honest here, and say I don't deal with pain very well at. Not very well at all!

Those who have had this done please share with me about the pain levels, what the uro prescribed for it, etc. I'll be watching the boards for feedback. Thanks

I am just past the surgery stage and can tell you that pain was minimal. I took no prescription pain meds after leaving the hospital (not sure what I recieved there). I took Tylenal for a couple of days and then quit. I may handle pain well but this was a "piece of cake"!

If you've been reading this forum you've seen posts about pain at both ends of the spectrum. Many, if not most, including myself report little to no pain and no need for pain meds stronger than Tylenol, but there are a few who have reported being in agony. I guess it depends on the individual, and it may also be that some have a lower pain threshold than others and perceive what many would consider minor pain as major. But in any case, it passes quickly and before you know it you'll be back in business.

I would consider the infrapubic method. There's generally less pain and quicker recovery time.

ED2013 Please educate me. What is the infrapubic methos please? I'm new to this forum, and am trying to learn all I can before going forward. My visit w/doctor to get this started is early August. Thanks
