Are ED clinics worth it?

Postby toronaga07 » Fri Sep 26, 2025 2:11 pm

I am 67 year old diabetic and have had ED for 8 years now. No oral meds help nor do injections. I see ads for clinics that say they can help regardless. They seem to be promoting some sound-based treatment but I have read here that doesn't usually help. Is it worth it to go for a $99 visit or am I just going to be hit with high pressure sales?

toronaga07, have you been diagnosed by a good uro doc ? Sounds like you've read what I have about the rate of success with "alternative treatments". That said, for $99, maybe it'd be interesting to hear what they have to say. But yes, I expect that involves a generous sales effort :)

around my area it seems many just end up listening to your story, then decide to just prescribe Viagra or Cialis.
Many bus, subway and radios ads for this type of thing.

Ive contacted 2 and in each case thats the script I got both times.

Some also have a shockwave procedure to upsell you on. Which do not work btw.

Skip them altogether.

They are talking about shockwave treatments. Those aren’t shown to be effective for severe ED. And any claims they make about treating ED at all are subtle and temporary.

If you have tried the various pills (Viagra, levitra, cialis, stendra) as well as shots and none of it is effective? Then it is time to get an implant.

Instead of going to see them I would seek out the best implant surgeon you can find and have a consult appointment with them to discuss your options.

If you say where you are from, guys here can tell you about implant surgeons near you.

Yes I have. He prescribed quadmix but it did not help.

toronaga07, FWIW for me injections didn't work any better than pills. My Dr's response was that if injections don't work, none of the stimulation therapies would work either.

A men's ED Clinic is where I was introduced to Trimix. At the time that helped me since Viagra had quit being effective.
It was still a come on for high pressure sales of Trimix. Doc said I should inject 5 days a week for the next 6 weeks, then continue for 4 days a week for 6 months. Of course, they wanted to sell me ALL the needed Trimix supply that day at a cost close to 4 grand!
If you have used any injectable and it doesn't work, it is time to see a men's sexual health urologist. More than likely the only option left that will work is an implant.
