Ease away from long, repetitive quotes

For the sake of those of us who read posts on FT, can we please refrain from the long, repetitive quotes from previous posts on a thread? Just pick out the pertinent portion or sentence of the post and delete the rest. Or better yet, stop using the quotes; most are unnecessary.

i agree, you see it all the time. People don't realise you can just delete everything out of the " "'s to only quote what you want.

Great idea, I agree unless there is a lot of post between said conversation.

The necessity of using the quote is that a user doesn't get notified that someone is talking to them unless you use a quote. But agreed it's better to chop down on the quote length
