Retrograde ejaculation

Postby jimmi85 » Wed Nov 29, 2023 2:36 pm

Hi guys,

I’m a type 1 diabetic and have retrograde ejaculation for around 15 years. 98% of the time I dry ejaculate, orgasm but there is no semen what so ever.

Every now and again, I might get a drop or two. I’d say probably one in 15 or so occasions. But still barely anything.

Very rarely, maybe once every 3-4 months I might ejaculate slightly more , tonight for instance I’ve had the most I’ve ever had, and if there is a ‘normal’ a normal amount.

I’m very confused right now, I’ve resigned myself to believing I won’t be able to conceive naturally, and don’t use birth control with my GF as there seems little
Point.

I guess my question is, how can someone with RE dry ejaculate most of the time but sometimes ejaculate little/moderatly?

Thanks
Implanted by Mike Fraser in feb 2022 due to a 80 degree dorsal curvature. 18cm Titan - way undersized. 8’ pre Peyronies, 6’ pre implant - currently 6’.

There are a couple of issues to consider. With diabetes, sometimes the bladder nerves are damaged and the bladder neck doesn't full close during ejaculation, which becomes the path of least resistance for your ejaculate. There are a bunch of medicines that can cause this too...I used to be on Tamsulosin for BPH and after being on it a couple of weeks I had RE about 75% of the time. Once I got off it, problem solved. You may want to look over any meds you take and see if RE is a side effect. As for your question, you may be experiencing some ejaculation under circumstances where your bladder neck stays closed due to some chemical factor, either natural or induced -- like nasal decongestants. Psudephedrine has been used as treatment for this and also as part of diagnosing. I would have a talk with your doctor, this may be a simple fix, or at least hopefully come up with a causal factor.

Have a chat with your doc about the RE and need (or not) for birth control. All it takes is one sperm to reach the egg.
