When to go bionic…

Postby Omar51 » Mon Nov 20, 2023 6:41 am

I am currently stacking viagra on top of 5mg cialis which works much of the time. It requires planning and then I am not always certain of it working. My doctor has approved this regimen for now. Has anyone been at this point and opted for an implant?

Similar to the old advice about planting trees: the best time to plant a tree is ten years ago. Probably more like 5 years for an implant,

It seems the majority of people choose to go Bionic because of like you stated the inconvenience of the pills and injections.

I decided to go bionic not because of any 'inconvenience' of pills, injections, pump but because NOTHING worked and implant was the only option if I wanted to ever see my erection again.

My "acid test" was this: I evaluated what my current condition was and if I would regret losing what erectile ability I had. Would regret losing that ability were the implant to fail. If the answer was "yes" it was not time for an implant.

Certainly this was a simplistic analysis, but pretty close to the best advice I can give.

Every man's tolerance for using other means of sex (injections, suppositories, vacuum erection device, etc) will vary and that will figure into your personal calculation.

Good luck to you.

I'm in the group who went through pills, then injections, then nothing worked until getting implanted. I hated the drugs, hated the planning and scheduling sex. I'm also in the group that wishes they had done it sooner.

That is the best advice.

OK, in an effort for a little balance: I've been happily using alprostadil compounded mono-mix injections for going on 12 years. My ED was a direct and immediate result of a radical robotic prostatectomy.

Pills never did work as a stand alone but I have found them to be a worthwhile supplement to the VED or injections.

I've been fairly happy with injections. Once figured out I've found them to be reliable and effective and very affordable. I have no plans to get an implant. But of course you never know what the future may hold.

I have nothing against implants. If they're the appropriate treatment for your ED then that's the course you should take. At least for now I'm happy with injections

Bldoink, I'm glad that they've worked for you. It's probably a good idea to remind members that there are long term users without problems.

I guess I'm also in the category of a long term user of Trimix...some 12 years now. However, I did just very recently move to Quad-mix, ( at 10ccs) with great results. I can still get a usable erection with Trimix, but at a dose of 30ccs and wearing a cock ring. Everybody's journey with ED is different and unique. In my opinion it comes down to what you're comfortable doing for it whether it be pills, injections or an implant. I'm a single (divorced) guy with a younger GF, so so far I've been fortunate to have had Trimix work for me for so long. I decided to use the Quad-mix sparingly meaning if I can get by with the Trimix I'll use that...If I'm relaxed, and the mood is right on both my GF's and my part, Trimix works well....but if I'm feeling a bit "off" I go for the Quad-mix which does the trick....so far at least.
