Howdy Tomas.

Just a quick note to wish you speedy recovery and return to better health.

I stick my head in the website a couple of times per week and always check your progress on this kidney thread. Thoughts, hopes, & prayers from west central Texas that the docs get a handle on it.

I go thru a lot of cranberry juice whenever I’m dealing with kidney stones. I can’t swear to it’s efficacy but worst case it does no harm, it tastes good, and if I get the no sugar added type it doesn’t all go towards a belly.

Best of luck.

Thanks Tex, I'll get over all this eventually. I just saw part of the news about Stetson hat company. I bought a pair of Tony Lama boots a long time ago in El Paso.

New labs on 6/13 show GFR at 36. It was 35, but at least it didn't go down.

Today, they inserted some saline into my bladder via the catheter. I was asked to hold it against the urge to pee and didn't even feel the removal of the cath. I peed most of it out and was sent home. I'm to drink lots of water so I can urinate, I think that will go all right.

How easy is it to hold your bladder when they fill it full? I was leaking the fluid out the catheter as they were putting it in me.

I seemed to hold it all right, but she only put 120ml (I think) in.
Holding it in made me not feel the catheter being removed.

Dammit, I'm still showing a UTI, It's Enterococcus faecalis. I have to start another battery of antibiotics today.

Well that's a bummer but it could be worse. Hopefully they'll get you sorted out this time.

tomas: txagq8 has a good idea. I once cured a urinary tract infection by drinking an entire quart of real cranberry juice, unsweetened and not watered down like most of it. Took about an hour to get it down - very tart! It works differently from antibiotics - it makes bacteria lose their grip on the plumbing, and they're flushed out when you pee. But PM your nephrologist to see if it's ok on the kidneys.
