My question is have anyone's wife or girlfriend tryed or are using Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)? I know this is a men's forum but was wondering if it helped their female partner? I will be getting an implant soon and wife has all the symptoms of low female hormones and we are investigating into it. HRT is mainly for menopausal and perimenopausal women and it sound amazing. There are many stories on Frank Talk about couple in their 70s & 80s that have regular sex many times a week and I find this fascinating. HRT has just starting here in the US but in England it is widely used. So my question is below.
So, has anyone here tried HRT? If so, what was your wife’s experience?

Did you mean Hormone Replacement Therapy?
Retired 65 y.o. Married. Moderate ED since 2019. Use constriction band ocassionately to help maintain erection, or Cialis/Viagra. Nocturnal/morning erections returning with VED usage. Lower libido than before.

My wife tried it in her forties, and it did work, but she got scared of the side affects and stopped. She will be 70 soon and has almost no sexual drive. It is what it is, and I love her regardless. I would never want her to do anything she didn't want to do.

Re: HRT anyone?
I believe you are referring to the estrogen therapy that has been studied since the 1940s, and put into practice in the early 1950s. My wife has enjoyed sex through and after menopause, the same as before, because she got good estrogen therapy from her gynecologist. It took several iterations, over about 6-7 years, changing the hormones around to keep her "young," and that's how she feels at age 77! I'm that age, and can only bang her once a week, but she could do it most every day! In fact she plays with toys while I'm "down."
(She reports no side effects, and if there are some, go back to the doc for another iteration. It's not just one estrogen, it's more complicated, and takes time.)

Age 80 in 2025. On testosterone replacement due to hypothalamus malfunction. (Attention depressed guys: low testosterone is a cause.) Healthy health nut but ED due to getting old. Like to keep enough cardiovascular ability to thrust for 30 min.

I'm 63 and have been undergoing testosterone replacement therapy under a doctor's supervision for almost 10 years. First, years ago, it was the gel. Then injections weekly. Now, my doctor implants testosterone pellets in my butt every 4 months (the best method, imo). TRT has allowed me to maintain a vigorous libido and in combination with working out and diet, I feel great. It goes a LONG way in helping one maintain lean muscle. Sure, my nuts are the size of grapes now and along with my new implant (5 weeks postop as i write), I just consider those the cost of doing business for improved quality of life.
My soon to be ex-wife is 60 and also does HRT therapy. She found a doctor that also implants pellets using BIO-IDENTICAL hormones, which i am told are much safer than synthetic hormones (the ones most women are prescribed when they are younger). She has an amazing libido, gets as wet down below as any 25 year old woman, and tends to be in a much better mood and psychological state than in her early "hot flash" days. Her skin improved too.

Sure, enclomiphine is also used to increase T without messing up hair or testicles.... But that is known to mess up your vision instead.

Re: HRT anyone?
There are several chat groups on Reddit that address this very issue. Be forewarned that testosterone is frequently used. A lot of women have an illogical mental block taking male hormones.
I know a couple whose wife started on the testosterone implant. She complained to me that her libido was so high it was distracting her.
Btw, if you or your wife gets the implanted version. It does not remain therapeutic as long as they claim. You might be better served by trying to get it replaced early if your/her symptoms start to come back.

Re: HRT anyone?
My wife is in the beginning stages of experimenting with Hormone Replacement Therapy. For some time she's been using vaginal estrogen to keep the the girl parts down there supple and receptive. That part has worked quite well and there are no side effects that we, or the experts as best I can tell, find to be a problem. Only upside.
She's recently been taking DHEA which is a testosterone precursor. But she's finding some masculinization traits (e.g. facial hair, acne) that are prompting her to quit that. This makes her way of any testosterone supplement and I have to be careful not to push too hard.
She's also been using a compounded cream on her vulva that is part sildenafil and part testosterone. The testosterone is 0.1%, so it's not very potent she only applies it just before sex. We consulted with a functional medicine nurse practitioner recently who is recommending that we increase that formula to 0.3% with the possibility of going to 0.5% depending upon results. The hope is that the side effects of systemic DHEA will be mitigated, or not present at all, with a topical application of testosterone.
Earlier this year, her T was measured at 49 and her Free-T was that 0.6. Both of these are in the "normal" range according to LabCorp. She's going today for another test today.
In general, her initial resistance to estrogen has been completely overcome and she's fully on board with that. Her resistance to testosterone, which has some factual grounding, is ongoing and is a barrier for me to get a hot-to-trot wife (yes, it's all about me!). I would rate her libido as medium: if she had her way, she'd prefer sex once a week or every 10 days; but she does make an effort to enjoy it on a 4 or 5 day schefule. Sometimes this is "duty sex" but more often it fits the model of receptive desire where she does get into it.
I'd be interested in any comments that address the benefits or side effects of testosterone in women. Also, any advice on how to encourage the wife to be more aggressive in her testosterone therapy.
