literature says the average is 24 months to begin recovery. Some more and some less time. I would go back to your surgeon and ask him to explain in detail his surgery notes. I had nerve sparing DiVenci procedure. Before surgery the doc says I may need Cialis to get an erection. Then after 6 months of tri mix use the surgeon tells me he removed ALL my nerves and I may as well get an implant. Find out face to face how much your nerves were damaged. At 4 years since RP I am starting to get blood flow to my glans. Prior to that it was a cold popsicle a stick. Today 5 years after rp. my glans is cold and white. Good Luck.

I'm 10 months post prostate removal with the surgeon sparing one nerve and taking about 25% of the other one. I've been using trimix for the last 6 months with mixed success. I take 5mg of Cialis daily. I've only recently started having chubbies at night, but as soon as I start moving around I loose it. Life is too short to keep waiting so I'm getting an implant next week. I have a beautiful wife that wants sex so I'm moving forward with an implant. My BCBS insurance approved it without a fuss. I guess you have to decide if you want to keep waiting hoping for improvement.

Dr. John Mulhall's book "Saving Your Sex Life: A Guide for Men with Prostate Cancer" is a must read for anyone facing Prostate Cancer treatment and also for after. Get this book. He will help you know what to do to get your ERECTION back. The longer you wait after your treatment the less success you will have. Be proactive. Don't just wait for it to return. Good luck.
