Hey guys,

Just wondering how many trips u guys make to the bathroom @ nite to pee? I’m 76, will b 77 in January. Doc says I have a mild case of BPH, I’ve had the Urolift procedure which for me did nothing except give me a trip to the ER because of urine retention & a catheter for about 10 days. Also on 5mg of Cialis & have tried Finesteride to help w BPH, but nothing has changed. Also was on Flomax for awhile, didn’t like the side effects w that one, so stopped.

Anyway, just wondered what other guys r experiencing. Thanks much.

I’m 80 and average 2 to 3 trips during the night and 2 to 3 trips during the rest of the day.

Thanks DT,

Right behind u. I’m up 3-4 times a nite, so mayb I’m in the “average” group. During the day, I probably make a bathroom trip about the same number of times. There r times that I can pee & right back in there in 45 min to an hour. Thanks for ur reply, appreciate it!!

Do u have BPH or has ur Doc told u that u do? Still have ur prostate? If the 1942 is ur bday, ur the same age as my brother & he says he gets up once during the nite, so guess I’m just one of the unlucky ones. Shoot, I’d settle for 2 times & b happy.

Thanks again.

Dave

I'm 79 and have no prostate issues. I go about 6 times a day, every 4 hours or so. So I'm up at least twice every night. Luckily, I usually am able to fall back asleep after. The joys of aging.

Guess I'm lucky because I've never had to get up to pee at night. Lately though, my bladder has been waking me up earlier and earlier.

No indication of BPH and still have a prostate - latest PSA was 1.3.

I sometimes wonder if I even have BPH, but both my primary & urologist say I have a mild case. My last PSA was 1.9, so hopefully no issues w that so far anyway. Just wonder if the reason I’m up @ nite is because of my bladder & mayb overactive & not my prostate. Idk. Thanks guys for ur replies, appreciate it a ton!!

Twice a night is my usual at age 77; once if I go to bed thirsty. I've taken a triple dose of saw palmetto for decades and my urologist says my prostate is only slightly enlarged. He says the jury is still out on whether saw palmetto slows benign prostate enlargement, some studies say yes, some say no, but then he said: "Keep doing what you're doing."
