Is Ativan causing my problems?

Postby stils73 » Fri Sep 30, 2022 5:46 pm

I have pretty severe anxiety and experience panic attacks occasionally. My PCP has prescribed several different medications but Ativan seems to take the edge off the best. Thats all I take for it now. The longer I've taken it the more I've had ED and sensitivity issues. I now take 100mg of Viagra and bought the Eddy by Giddy ED device. I can hold an erection pretty well for about 20 mins then I just give up. Neither my wife nor I am into it for that long. She can get hers but I can't get mine. I'm losing sensitivity rapidly. We used to have sex every other night, now I wait 5 days minimum so I am able to stay into it longer. It's not her. She's great and beautiful. Been married 28 years. But the last 3 months has been tough. She still wants it every other day. I do too...just can't. I also bought a VED hoping it might help with sensitivity. I need a tutorial on how to use it lol. So far when I put my pecker in it, it just stays limp. I try setting #2 >125 and about all I get is one nut sucked into it and pain. She and I are both very frustrated. In a nutshell...I can get it up with meds but can't keep it up because of loss of sensitivity...and I haven't figured the best way to get the VED to gelp me at all. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Btw...the PCP says that Ativan should have no effect on sensitivity or ED

A quick Google for "Ativan ED" indicates that it can definitely cause ED. Maybe see if you can keep the panic attacks at bay with a lower dose of the Ativan, and maybe that will also reduce your sexual side effects

After fixing your anxiety / panic, try reducing the dose. Talk with your doctor about that.

I can relate about the VED sucking in the boys. I have had the same problem. Increasing pressures just pulls the scrotal skin and all its contents toward the tube! I suspect you and I both could benefit from a smaller diameter cylinder. At the suggestion of others here on FT, I purchased a silicone donut cushion that fits on the end of the cylinder where you insert yourself. For the time being it has somewhat helped with scrotal skin being pulled in, and also gives a little cushioning. It makes it a little more comfortable. You can find the donut cushions on Amazon and Ebay.

As for Ativan, some have suggested it could be a cause ED. I just googled it, and the first hit suggests the same problem. If you could clear out the anxiety, maybe your ED would disappear? Maybe alternative treatments with even less impact on sensitivity and erections?
