Advice for asking the right questions

Postby Anonymous FT Member » Thu Jun 30, 2022 10:34 pm

I've searched for answers for at least a decade from various doctors. So far I have been treated for peyronies and ed by way of potaba, verapamil and oral pde-5 inhibitors. I've had some urologists say they can feel a plaque and others will say they cannot. I can clearly see and feel a bump or ridge about mid shaft. This is also the same area that takes on a bit of hour glass shape when trying to get erect. It eventually fills out sometimes with a little bit of encouragement. :?

So far I feel like all the doctors are just doing guess work. I've asked about tests, but doctors act like they don't know about it or don't think I need it. Isn't there something called a rigiscan and also a penile doppler scan? Wouldn't this show some concrete evidence of plaques or blood flow issues?

I get tired of leaving the doctor feeling defeated or not achieving anything new. I thought I had a good doctor, but all he has offered so far is pills for ed. He has also mentioned I believe more than once penis rings from a sex shop. To be honest I know very little about penis rings or how/where to use them properly. In fact, I think in my early teens I damaged the tunica by constricting it which might be why I have hour glass. I'm visual and need demonstrations for some of this stuff.

I guess I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the way I present myself at the doctors office, or do I not meet certain criteria to warrant help? Like are doctors less likely to help a single man with his penis and sexual health than they would someone married? I've wondered before if I should lie about certain things.

How many urologist specializing in men's erectile functioning have you seen?
Age: 68. Struggled with ED/PE for years.
Used Viagra for 10+ years with mixed success.
In May 2022 started using Trimix with very good results.

Probably about 6 or 7 urologists, but that has been over course of 20 years or more. What do you mean by specializing?

I believe that I have. I would say about 3 out of the 6 or 7 specialize in the area.

Don't know your back story (pills, injections, etc..) but how have you not had a Doppler done? It's such a simple request. I called my urologist's office and told them Cialis no longer works, I want a penile ultrasound done and let's talk about the next step. A month later I'm on the table with a wand over my TriMix induced erection.
Normal, you need to take charge. Find a new urologist, TELL THEM WHAT YOU WANT, and set up an appointment to get a Doppler done. (You don't have to tell them about the other doctors you've visited). Once you know about your penile health (blood flow), YOU make the decision on what to do next.
Fifty-one years old. ED started at age forty. I took Cialis for eight years and used Trimix for almost three. Implanted 12/6/22 by Dr. Jonathan Clavell. AMS 700CX 21cm.

As I mentioned in the original post, I have been prescribed pills and even a topical cream for both peyronies and ed. Just quick physical exam, but no tests, measurements, questionnaires etc...I didn't always know about so called penile doppler. I always thought as the patient, I describe the symptoms and leave it up to the doctor to know what tests I need.
