I had robotic radical prostatectomy in August of 2021. My doctor referred me for pelvic floor therapy to regain urinary continence. It is vitally important and helped me go from no control after my surgery to total control.
66, married 40+ years. Robotic Prostatectomy with 50% of nerves spared 8/21. Cancer returned 4/22. 38 Radiation treatments. Coloplast Titan implant 20cm + 2cm with Dr. Paul Perito 10/22. Cancer is back 3/23.

Search for this post:

(Or search by my posts)
and you’ll see it’s a common problem. I started with daily at home PT, but have dropped down to a maintenance schedule.
I go 1x per week to a PT for pelvic floor rehab. They use a combo of estim pads and a rectal estim. At home I use the Kfit twice per week. I’m not a fan of rectal estim, butt they work. You have to learn to flex your kegels before a cough, sneeze, stretch, etc.
My urge incontinence is gone, but I still have an occasional leak. It’s far better than 6 mo ago.

Just do it…

Had radical cystectomy in Dec. of 2017 and living in the greater Western Montana do not have access to male pelvic floor therapist. So I will be following this conversation really closely. Thanks for letting tag along.

Well that should make it a bit more fun and entertaining once you get past the initial awkwardness. I have had an number of female doctors, some young and attractive. My current new primary sure is. I have no problems with it and enjoy interacting with her.
