Yes, alpha blockers are very helpful and there are many studies that show it.

The problem is finding the right drug.

I have tried several alpha blockers and the only thing that worked for me was oral phentolamine (formerly known as Vasomax).

I take phentolamine 1 hour before sex, in combination with udenafil.

Side effects may include headaches, nasal congestion, tachycardia and hypotension.

Oral phentolamine is not approved in the US but it seems to be a popular treatment in China, where you can find several brands.

Never hear of that one, only your doctor can say what's best for you.

I remember I tried alfuzosin and terazosin with zero results but they seem to work for other men.

Could one currently on a different BP medication take a single dose of Doxazosin (4mg?) an hour or two before sexual activity or should I ask my GP to switch my BP med to Doxa?

Okay, let's try it this way...

Can anyone tell me how they incorporate a 4mg dose of Doxazosin? Does one take it when going to bed, the night before sex (so roughly 24 hours before) or 1 hour or 2 hours before sex like Viagra?

I take 2 mg Doxazosin before bed.

It does make a difference concerning nocturnal erections. They haven't completely returned, but they occur more often and I usually have at least a partial erection in the morning. It does improve my flaccid hang. And, it seems to make my ED meds more effective. Oral meds have never been effective for me. But, Doxazosin reduces the amount of Trimix needed and increases the time that it works.
Age: 39, Diabetic (well controlled) HBP (since teens, less well controlled, but ok),
mild ED for 3 years, l arginine l citrulline and norvaline (amino acid stack) helped.
Pills: ineffective. Started trimix: 6/24/18, EXTREMELY effective.
