Resum experiences?

Postby tomas1 » Sun Jul 18, 2021 6:32 pm

I wonder if anyone here has had this procedure to shrink the goddam prostate?
I plan to ask my urologist about it tomorrow.

Tomas1,
I had the Rezum" procedure (transurethral needle ablation) in December, 2016. Yes, the procedure did provide relief. The results of the procedure were to last 5-10 years. The Rezum' procedure basically injects water vapor (steam) into the swollen tissue of the prostate, to reduce the tissue surrounding the tube that goes from the bladder to the penis.(in my case 6 injections) The procedure worked...but... not for long. Within a year and a half, I started having the same issues. A new urologist put me on Flomax and something else to help shrink the prostate. By late August, 2019, my urine flow was like peeing through a very small straw. In October, 2019, the urologist preformed a "Photo Vaporization of the Prostate", with the use of a laser. Now, almost 2 years later, I can still piss like a race horse and no overnight trips to the bathroom. The laser procedure is done out-patient with no overnight stay. I wish I had done the laser procedure in 2016.
Ask your doctor lots of questions and do your research...educate yourself and work with your doctor to find the procedure that's best for you.

Stmsttr, since the laser procedure are you still able to ejaculste or does your ejaculate go retrograde into the bladder?

GoodWood,
Short answer, retrograde.
Similar to the TURP (trans ureathral resection of the prostate), the laser procedure opens everything up. Saying that, at orgasam, the feeling is still as intense and pleasurable, just no mess...and we rather prefer it. At 74, I really don't need a cum geyser. lol

Thanks for the tip about the laser procedure.
I wonder if any procedure helps cancerous cells migrate from the prostate?
I guess that's another question for my urologist.
I also don't care about ejaculate.

I talked to the doc about possibly having the laser procedure done.
He asked if my frequent urination is a problem for me.
I told him it really doesn't bother me.
I have an adequate stream, and he doesn't recommend doing anything at this time.
