Surgery Denied - Individual Health Insurance

Hello all!

So twice now I've been brought down to the wire only to be denied. Aetna said it was an exclusion, and Blue Cross doesn't cover any ED items. I pay 825 a month for coverage for just me, its through the Marketplace. Does anyone have a successful experience with their individual health insurance plan with a penile implant surgery?

Are you a veteran? If you are PM me. I just might be able to help you.

I had Ambetter (MHS) and mine also denied coverage. I decided to just drop my health insurance because of it. Hopefully 2021 when my work picks up health insurance it will give me approval. If not I will need to pay out of pocket. Also if you post this in the implant section you might get more responses.

There are several threads in the implant section about veterans getting their implants through the VA. Some have as little as a $25.00 copay.

I have not gotten that far yet. I am on Trimix injections right now. I am fortunate that I only need 10 units to give me a 2-3 hour erection. I have a great compounding pharmacy in Los Angeles where I get 10ml for $33.00 plus a $10.00 overnight delivery charge.
