looking to hear some anxiety induced ED stories

Postby Dkron02 » Sun Jul 12, 2020 7:59 pm

I'm in my mid 30s and I've had a reasonable sex life with my partner for the past year until this month when we wanted to conceive and she started using ovulation test strips. When she got close to that time of the month, I started getting ED. I can feel myself getting stimulated but at best its a 3 out of 10, far too weak to sustain penetration. We tried one each day for the past 4 days and each time I get more depressed, anxious and it has been difficult concentrating on anything else. I am feeling really down and lacking any sex drive.

I want to hear if anyone else has had this type of experience. How long did it last and what enabled you to finally break out of it?

No, I don't speak from experience. However my suggestion is to get to a doctor and get some pills to get you over this hump quickly. I've only used Viagra but go with what your doctor recommends. I'd do it quickly before it effects your relationship. I'm suggesting ED would effect a relationship with a caring woman but having extreme anxiety over committing to starting a family might. But I do get the anxiety about having kids. It's a very big decision, or at least it should be. If you don't have any other issues, which you probably don't, the pills should work.

I battled sexual performance anxiety (coital anxiety) for two decades and I could write an entire encyclopedia on the subject.

Psychogenic ED is easily treatable, a few tips:

a) The more you know about ED, the less stressful it will be. Read books (I strongly recommend anything written by the famous urologist Tom F. Lue), talk to doctors, visit good websites.

b) Stress, smoking and obesity have a drastic impact on your sexual performance, a healthy lifestyle is the #1 ED treatment.

c) It is perfectly normal to fail every now and then, that is nothing to worry about and it's not ED.

d) I used a simple technique to overcome anxiety: whenever I had a negative sexual experience, I would stop all sexual contact for some time (one week, two weeks, a month) just to clear up my mind and regain confidence.

e) Consult your doctor (urologist) regularly, it's no shame to seek professional help and self medication is always a risk.

f) Oral drugs (Viagra, Cialis) and supplements (PRELOX, Seredyn) may be helpful but only your doctor can say what's right for you.

I hope this helps. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!
