Any Type 1 Diabetics with Success Stories?

Postby personfromon » Wed Apr 22, 2020 3:27 am

Hi all,

So I'm 28 years old, a type 1 diabetic and have had some degree of ED for the past ~6 or so years. It happened to me very suddenly one day but has not been any better since I first noticed it. I very rarely get morning erections, and only able to achieve soft erections (probably 6 or 7 out of 10 at best if 10 is the diamond smashers I had when I was a teenager) when i'm physical with someone else or watching porn. Cialis and viagra have not helped me.

I have been a diabetic since I was 12 years old, and to be honest I wasn't great about looking after myself throughout my teens, but into my 20s I've taken it much more seriously. In the past 8 years I believe all my A1C's have been <8, with the majority being <7.

Is there any hope for me at this point? I don't want to sound dramatic, but I'm genuinely considering killing myself if I can't get this dealt with. It hurts not being able to have a physical relationship with someone, and when that is off the table everything else in life loses its shine. I've thought about an implant but I live in Canada and from what I understand it's difficult to get one here. Also, I'm not sure how easy it will be to explain to any potential partners in the future that I have to pump myself up before we have a go in the sack :| .

I guess the main question I'm asking is: are there any other type 1 diabetics here who have a similar experience to mine, and have found success in some way?

Any input is appreciated, thanks.

I've read many penile implant success stories of men who are in their later years, are over weight and/or have a variety of health issues (some with diabetes). Some of these men feel like they are better then ever since they can have an erection for as long as they want. So there is a lot of hope for you. :D The stories I've read about younger men hiding their implants involve pumping them up prior to instigating foreplay and running off to the bedroom. As far as having surgery in Canada I wouldn't know. We have some awesome surgeons here in the states that have helped men from all over the world though.
Fifty-one years old. ED started at age forty. I took Cialis for eight years and used Trimix for almost three. Implanted 12/6/22 by Dr. Jonathan Clavell. AMS 700CX 21cm.

I am an insulin dependent T2 on an insulin pump. Diagnosed 26 years ago and suffering with ED for 15. High blood glucose causes peripheral neuropathy which reduces sensitivity in your dick and autonomic neuropathy which affects sexual response. Accordingly, if you can get your BGs under better control (A1c<6) you might be able to reverse the neuropathy.

Easier said than done. My A1c is almost always > 7. When Viagra became ineffective, I started injecting Trimix which worked great (2 hour hard erections) for about three years before it started to be ineffective. I am currently using a VED with Osbon tension bands which generates and maintains a hard erection; however, the tension bands cause my erection to become insensative after 10 minutes and need to be removed after 20 minutes to ovoid problems. However, the VED allows me to engage in sex several times a week.

As mentioned above, an implant has worked well for others.

Before you consider taking your life, you now have some choices to make. Before making any drastic action, consider making a call to a suicide hot line.

Any idea as to what the cost is typically like in regards to getting an implant in the states?

I used trimix as well, with little success. Ended up having a case of priapism once and have not used it since. Thanks for the reply.

I am type 1 and aquired it later in life. I also have ED and it started about2009. I tried Vigra and then Levitra with no success. I then waited until 2016 and went to a new uro and he RXed me Cialis for my prostate problem. I was taking 5mg daily and found out that if I took 20mg at once I could get a good erection, enough for sex but the downside was I had to go without my daily dose because I could only get 90 pills for 90 days.
Then my female uro RXed Trimix to inject into my cock just for sex. So now I take my daily 5mg of cialis and it's time for sex I inject 10 units into my cock and in about 8-10 minutes I have a solid erection that will be good for 2 to 3 hours. I don't forsee me getting an implant for quite some time as my workable dose of Trimix is very small, so I get a lot of doses out of one RX.
So, Please get rid of those thoughts of doing yourself in, there are many options out there. If your uro can't or won't assist or explain your many options then you need to find a new one. You are so young and your issue may only be temporary or with some work on your part and your uro you can overcome your issues and have a great, fun and enjoyable sex life be it straight, bisexual, gay or otherwise.
Phil, 75, married 54 years, ED started about 9 years ago. After viagra and cialis and pumping have found Trimix. Use 10 units injected with a partial erection. 31g-5/16" or 31g 1/2"needle. 10-1-30 :D :D :D Wife likes it too :D :D :D :D
