Need Advice / info on TRIMIX

I am 60 YO, been a diabetic for 20 + years. I have ED and till about 2012 oral medications like Viagra and Tadalfil gave me rock hard erections. After 2012 It has been real bad - and I get partial erections - which means I have not been intimate in almost 6 years.

I came across two options - the Shock wave therapy and Trimix injections. Muse suppositories cost $ 445 for 5 suppositories) I am not in favor or Shock wave therapy because of the cost ($ 2000-3000, not covered by Insurance).

With Trimix I have a different issue. I went to a clinic in Dallas TX - where I paid the initial consultation of $ 99. The problem is that their package is costly ( $ 500 - 2000 for Trimix and the syringes. They will not tell me what the dosage is or concentration it would be.. In the end I don't know how much I would spend and for how many doses.

Can someone please suggest a way out, where I can speak to a physician over the phone, and have a prescription sent to a compounding pharmacy? Can someone suggest a pharmacy with a reasonable cost for Trimix?
I'd really appreciate your help.

So-called "men's clinics" have a reputation for price-gouging and for making it difficult for their clients to obtain prescriptions elsewhere.

Trimix medication is not a drug company product. It is prepared by compounding pharmacies, which mix the required ingredients. Compounding pharmacies are not fly-by-nights. They've been around for years and play an important, legitimate role in the medical scene.

Try this: Call one or more compounding pharmacies in your area. Ask them if they compound trimix. If the answer is yes, ask for the names of a couple urologists who routinely prescribe the stuff. Make an appointment with one of the urologists. (You may also find that your regular family doc can refer you to a urologist who prescribes trimix.)

When I started trimix five years ago, I got aboard for the price of a urologist office visit (about $125 as I recall) and the cost of my first vial of medication ($100), which lasted about three months. Since then, I have a routine annual visit with the uro. The price of the compound has inched up to $135 in recent years. There is considerable variation in compound pharmacy pricing, but nowhere near the range of figures you're being quoted by the men's clinic.

Finally, consider this a journey. You may find that it takes effort to find the right doc, a bit of experimentation to establish the correct dosage and a learning curve to develop good injection technique. All do-able. Thousands of guys before you have done it. Undoubtedly, hundreds of guys are doing it in the very community where you live.
