Guys;
Paul is talking about adding us to search engines and the language on here is getting BAD. After I warned a member about an inappropriate post a few months ago, he sent Paul a message and complained about me swearing... while my language was not meant for children, it certainly was nothing like some of the recent posts here. I thought we were all adults here. I am certainly not expecting the Pope to join us, some of language here would make a sailor blush... it needs to stop :oops: :oops:

Thanks in advance for your co-operation. :D :D

Are you sure that's still an issue? If you're referring to the other thread in this Sub-Forum started by Paul titled "Search Engines", well that's actually a zombie thread brought back by new member Brouwe16 as his 1st post and judging by the included link it appears to be spam.

Edited for typo.

That's odd. Wasn't part the advice you were given from the marketing expert the fact that we talk the way regular guys talk and and write in search engines? Why change anything?

For the record, "fuck" is about as common an adjective in the UK as any other. I wouldn't worry about "us" being "us."

I think we should think about this long and hard.

We owe it to ourselves and humanity in general to be polite, but polite behavior and polite language are separate issues. Censorship has a chilling effect on communication by its nature.

To whom do we give the keys?

We ban certain people from the site for reasons of privacy and freedom of expression so we can express ourselves most freely without concern for the language we use and the opinions/attitudes we express about sex, sexuality, practices, etc. We start censoring our language (not behavior) to accommodate search engines and we run the danger of limiting the questions (and answers) we feel free now to post.

NOTE: I am not talking about stopping bad language. I am talking specifically about how we decide to accomplish the desired result without unintended consequences.
