A question for wives, girlfriends, women in general.

Postby Grayfox » Sat Feb 16, 2019 1:56 pm

I realize that probably 99.9% of the people on this forum are male. But I want a female point of view on a question. So guys, please show your wife, girlfriend, S.O. or just any female friend this thread and ask for their opinion. Further, please ask to explain why they feel as they do.

I have now been suffering from ED for 19 years. It started with a heart attack and triple bypass way back in 2000. The pills quit working years ago. The shots never did work and I'm currently using the pump and have been for about 4-5 years now. . While the pump does work, I just don't like the damned thing.

Ok, the only other option for me was an implant. Unfortunately, my insurance wouldn't cover it and I sure couldn't afford it. For years I have been painfully waiting to turn 65 and get on Medicare so I could get an implant.
Now the decision is further clouded by the possibility of Gainswave treatment. Yes, I am aware that even Medicare doesn't cover that.
Anyway, in two months (April) I will finally go on medicare and I already have signed up for an excellent Plan F supplement. I feel like that by one method or the other, Its time to seek a permanent solution for my problem. I'm ready to end this.

OK, here's the catch. I'm currently alone with no woman in my life. My wife passed away eight years ago. I did have a girlfriend for a few years, but we parted ways a bit over a year ago. I do have every intention of having a woman in my life again. I am out there and do have dates now and then. Just haven't found the right woman yet. BUT I am determined to find love again.

What will most likely happen is that I will probably give the Gainswave a try. Even with having to pay out of my own pocket. After all, I really would like to get natural erections again. But I do realize that its a risk and not guaranteed If that fails, then I'll go for the implant.

Now, after all that, I finally come to my question. Do you think it would be better for me to go ahead and seek treatment now OR should I wait until I have a woman in my life again? If I get myself fixed now, I have no one to use it on and may be spending a lot of money for nothing. If I wait until I get a new girlfriend, she will have to be patient and understanding while I go through treatment and a long recovery period.
Male opinions will be most welcome. However, I really want to get the women's point of view. Please explain your opinion.

Thanks.
Developed ED after Heart attack and by-pass in 2000. Used pills for years, but they don't work anymore. Shots don't work. Used a VED for several years. AMS 700 LGX installed 8-7-19.

I'm not entirely sure why you need a woman's opinion on this. However, IMHO, I would go ahead and get it done. For your own sake.

You didn't say if you tried injections. Why not?

When I got my implant last May I had been divorced for twelve years. I had lost a relationship of several years because of ED. I felt alone and somewhat depressed. I told myself it was just a temporary stag and anything else I could to deny I had an issue. When I got the courage to move forward with the implant I was scared as hell but I did it anyway. I healed and then started feeling more confident. The transformation was amazing and I started to date and then realized if and when the opportunity arose for sex I would be able to perform.

So, do it for yourself. Do it when you are ready and move ahead with purpose. Best of luck.

grandhaven: Yes, I did try the injections. They failed miserably.

I'm seeking women's opinions because I want to know how they would feel if they found their new boyfriend couldn't get it up. Would they be willing to hang with me while I got fixed or would it be better to just do it now.
It was when I met the ex-girlfriend that I discovered the Viagra didn't work anymore. That woman was a absolute angel about my problem and stuck with me for months while I was trying to figure it all out. After successfully getting on the pump, we spent another two wonderful years together. Sadly, it didn't last. But ED and sex weren't the issue.
IDK: maybe I just feel a little weird about going through the procedures and costs when I don't have anyone to do it for. And what if I do this and then can't find a new girlfriend? Would there be any point to it?

Yeah, chokin the chicken. But they also have these wonderful realistic love dolls now. Expensive upfront, but none of the "maintenance" costs of a real one, if you know what I mean!

If it were me, at that age, I can tell you what I would do. If all other options were exhausted, and I could afford it or insurance took care of it, then I would get the procedure done. Then seek a mate.

Hell, you're too young to worry about a lifetime mate anyway. But you have so many years in front of you, and more than likely many "connections"! ED is a bitch at any age. I cannot fathom having to deal with it at your age. It was late 30s when it started for me.

My experience is that young women don't want to spend time with a man who has severe ED. But women over 40 and especially over 50 are much more understanding. But still, in your case, I would try to fix the problem beforehand. Don't spend money with shockwave/gainswave. You will just lose money and gain nothing. I have never seen a positive comment about that procedure.
65 yrs, had venous leak all my life, sildenafil and other pills don't work anymore properly, using Caverject with pills.

Thanks.

I found women to be very understanding and willing to help. Remember, most women make love to the man, not the penis.

My current girlfriend is VERY enthusiastic about my penile ability, but what attracted her to me in the first place and the second place was my looks and personality. She did not even know what an implant was at first and my kisses are what got her into my bed. So, yes, by all means let a woman into your life. But if one is not available, do not let that dissuade you from proceeding with whatever treatment(s) are appropriate for your particular medical condition.

I posted on Craigslist and PoF (Plenty of Fish), frankly, clearly but discreetly that I was looking for an understanding woman willing to help me on my journey from impotence to (probably) an implant. I received several replies, almost all supportive and nearly half willing to consider entering into the physical relationship I requested (sort of a before-to-after journey). Many women expressed admiration for my bravery.

A man who is strong enough to admit a weakness AND IS ALPHA MALE ENOUGH TO TAKE STEPS TO FIX THE PROBLEM is attractive. More attractive than even a so-called "perfect" specimen of a man. So say all the women I have polled on the matter.

(That is, "polled", not "poled")
