Hello men. I’m new here. I am a 59 years old. I had radiation (IMRT) 3 years ago for a mere gleason-6 prostate tumor.

Over those years I have seen my erections get weaker and shorter. A penile ultrasound 1 year ago showed a 30 percent blod flow blockage (from the radiation). I can't even get nearly as horny now as I would get just before the treatment. However - my ED is NOT SEVERE as I do respond rather well to PDE-5 inhibitors (viagra, levitra, etc) and even a one-fourth of a pill gets my erection going. By all I've read, any positive response to those drugs indicates a moderate case of ED, not severe.

Now... I am scheduled to have the full course of shockwave therapy (Gainswave) next month. My uro sugggests the full course, but my thought is that since I am not severe I may not need the full 6-treatment course. In addition, he wants to do the P-Shot. I think all that may be overkill.

Can anyone share any constructive thoughts about any of this? Any real durable results by any Gainswave therapy? I've read that the P-Shot can lead to cancer over the years. Anyone heard of this?

The treatment is set. I just want to hear others' story and thoughts.

Good morning, welcome to Frank Talk. I am pretty confident that all of my implanted brothers will say the same as I. Hang on to every opportunity to get your own erection. Sometimes after pills the doctors do not recommend the injections so you move on to implant. The problem with that is, the earlier you start having implants, the more revisions you will need.

Dear Friend,

I had partial ED then after rectal cancer treatment it became complete.
I tried the P-shot 3 times and didn’t do anything.
I react to Trimix injections really well so I’m happy for now.

Erections with natural blood flow, either from pills or injections, fill the entire penis and are much better than an implant. Not that an implant isn't great, but natural is better. Hang in there.

So I had a penile doppler ultrasound done three days ago and .. to my great surprise... I came out as mild-moderate.

These are the test results:

DIAGNOSIS:

__X_ Arteriogenic impotence
___ Venogenic impotence
___ Combined arteriogenic + venogenic
___ Morphological penile abnormalities (e.g. Peyronie's disease)
___ Other:

This was great news as it made me realize that all this time it was mostly "mental" . However, I clearly still have Arteriogenic ED. Funny .... last night I went at it alone and I was 95% as hard as I used to get pre-treatment, and this is without any medication or pills of any kind!

I wish I have the actual numbers but the specialist that performed the proc said it was in the mid range.

I cannot wait to do the Gainswave treatments!
