I got a vasectomy done at the same time as the implant. I figured if I got lucky enough to bed a woman young enough to be in child-bearing years, I would not want to take the risk of fathering a child at my age.

I am sure it did not make my girlfriend at the time happy (she is past child-bearing), but she knew my intentions when we met.
