The hard part, of course, is getting her to a gynecologist or endocrinologist. For women who have pain during sex, advising them to see a doctor because, "It might be a physical problem," might get her foot in the door.

Last year, I discovered that there are vaginal dilator kits for women with problems such as her's. The devices start out extremely small, and gradually increase in size. The thickness of the dilators is more important than length, for our purposes, because it's the opening that is the main problem. She did not think that this would work but, after reading positive experiences about it online, ordered two kits of silicone dilators which contained eight dilators, and a tube of recommended lube. She started doing exercises with the dilators every day, starting with the smallest, slowly advancing to medium and then larger dilators. After about 8 months of her using the dilators and eventually dildos, in the spring of 2025, I was finally able to put my penis in her, albeit briefly.

Before long, we were able to have short sex sessions. Now, with some limitations of positions, we have PIV sex for average lenghs of time, sometimes longer if we feel like it, with no discomfort for her. She still exercises with dilators and dildos, usually before we have sex, rather than every day as she had previously been doing, and she recently was able to move up to the second largest size of a collection of 8 dilators - a size which would have been unthinkable for us just two years ago. My erect penis is about the same size as dilator #8, but as human skin is more pliable than silicone or other materials it can squeeze into places that a similarly sized dilator or dildo can't.

The dilator technology has changed our lives, for the better.
