Thinking of Getting Implant

Postby allin320 » Sun Jun 28, 2026 4:15 pm

I’m thinking of getting an implant. Have had ED for 7 years. Dr did the stretch test and said I’m middle of the pack, whatever that means. Was hoping to get a better Idea of size from him but didn’t give me anything further to go on. He does 60 implants a year the past 10 years. Any input on determining size after implant would be appreciated. Thanks!

Whatever you have for size now, you should be able to maintain with the implant. Using a VED will help maintain your size until you decide. Look for a high volume implant surgeon. That is the key to a great outcome. I had a surgeon who does about 100 per year tell me I would lose size and would have floppy glands after surgery. Dr. Clavell did my surgery and I kept my size and no floppy glands and I couldn't be happier.

I think that you can do a makeshift stretch test by yourself. Have a ruler handy & give it the biggest pull that you can muster. Quickly hold the ruler on top of your penis the best you can while maintaining the pull. Make note of the length.

If my memory serves my correctly. I think my erect ended up about 1.5cm or there abouts over my stretch test.

You might see if your partner will do it for you. It isn't rocket science. Just remember its only slightly better than a guess. The test will not tell you your IPP length. Too much of your corpra can be behind your pubic bone.

Since he said your in the ballpark. Expect somewhere between 5" to 6" after several months of cycling & recovery.

Oh, btw. In this day & age. I would not call 60 implants a year as high volume. Like many men, they tend to exaggerate.

Use the search function & do a search for his name. If he doesn't stand out enough to get some favorable comments on FT then look harder for a surgeon.

Thanks guys appreciate it. So the surgeon I’m looking at using studied and interned under Dr. Perito for several years. I’m thinking he’s pretty good. But I do think I will ask him for some references.

Can you give me an idea if I should expect any length loss after the surgery? I know I have read it does take 6 to 12 months to gain most back. If my stretched length is 6 inches could I expect around 6 inches at the 12 month point after the surgery?

FYI- 48 years old. Recently divorced.

Length is so variable after an implant that's why the doc wouldn't even comment. Best thing is don't wait too long as tissues tend to shrink if not used/stretched often. Use a VED daily until you decide.

Studying under Dr Perito is good. My issue & I did state this. He hasn't used what he learned very much in my opinion.

You don't give a clue as to where you live or give your drs name so somebody that used him might comment. Then you ask opinions. Why ask for opinions if you hold back important revelent info?

Don't be afraid of traveling. It is rare to have a good IPP dr standing on your street corner. For the most part. Your first IPP surgery is the most important one.
