Hi guys,
My testosterone is at 1122. Long story short, I started TRT on my own. I winter in South America where I could buy it OTC.
I had been talking to my urologist about starting TRT, but he put that conversation on the back burner until I was clear of my prostate cancer. Right before I left for South America, I got the results back that the cancer is all gone, but ran out of time to finish talking to my urologist about TRT.
Since I've been back, I talked to my Primary Doc about starting TRT, but he was hesitant and told me to talk to my urologist. I see my urologist in a few weeks. My PSA is at .08 this is likely benign prostate something...not concerned. All my test came back negative.
Ok, to the point. I'm 57. Is 1122 unusual?
I was at 175 mg per week. I scaled it back to 125 mg per week.
I feel (felt) fine at 175 mg. and 1122. Don't know my new number yet, waiting for my system to adjust to lower dose. I'd like to be around 1100.
I'm just a little nervous to walk into my uroligist and say, "Hey, I just went and bought TRT over the counter and starting shooting myself up". Umm, which is what I've done.
What's your TRT (Testosterone) level. Is 1122 normal?

I "think" that level is pretty high. I'm not saying it's a bad thing but I do think it's above normal.

with my low of 192, my PCM told me to get back on my TRT plan. I use Andro Jel Pump. It's a jel I rub on my shoulders daily.
He'll test me again in a couple months.

I take Kyzatrex oral at 800mg/day and that pushed me to go about 800'ish. I have been as high as 1150. I think I remember Dr. Morgantaler saying above 1200 is where you begin to worry.
As to being honest with the urologist, when there is a guy handling my junk, I don't have any concerns about being embarrassed. The benefits of him knowing exactly what's going on outweigh concerns of his opinion of self-medicating.
