Surgeon recommendations in Oklahoma?
Hello! I'm meeting with my urologist in 3 months to schedule the implant surgery. I am concerned because I'm having problems finding information about my surgeon's frequency of performing this operation. I have BCBS Oklahoma HMO plan through my employer, and the cost of the surgery is very doable, but I'm just concerned about not having a high volume surgeon. Can anyone direct me to any resources or make a recommendation for a surgeon in Oklahoma. I'm in the Tulsa area, but definitely willing to travel. Thanks!

Hey Librarian1975,
Oklahoma has two center of excellence surgeons. I would start here.
James Furr (AMS 700)
Charles Pritchard (Coloplast Titan)

Re: Surgeon recommendations in Oklahoma?
The MOST important consideration about implant surgery is the surgeon. It is approximately a 7 hour ride from the Tulsa area to Houston. I drove from Wisconsin to Houston (about 28 hours) to have Dr. Clavell do my surgery. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The results were great and I love my new dick!
I checked out some of the doctors in Wisconsin, who were in that Center ofExcellence group. Here's what one doc's told in the consult. He said I was going to loose size. If that wasn't bad enough, he said I was going to have floppy glands. He said it may be an issue getting it in, but once it was in, it shouldn't be a problem.
So, once again make sure you choose your surgeon very carefully, that decision will live wit you for the rest of your life.
