How long from the time of your surgery till you were fully ready for sex?

Postby MarcL97 » Thu Mar 26, 2026 10:44 am

Question for all men on FT:

How long from the time of your surgery till you were FULLY ready for sex?

For those who answer: would you please include the type of device you were implanted with? Examples, Inflatable Titan Classic Pump, Malleable Rigi, etc.)

Thank you all so much!

MarcL97, you are way overthinking this. Recovery isn't affected by the IPP brand or pump.

6 1/2 weeks. Was ok but wife had some atrophy so that affected the results. It got better quickly. Btw, scrotal surgery. The rest is in my signature details.

MarcL97, PIV sex started around week 7-8, and I'm implanted with a AMS700 CX and Tenacio pump.

This is going to vary greatly between different men. As Gt1956 said, recovery isn't dependent upon pump or type of implant. I'm just past 9 weeks post-op. I was cleared at my 6 week post-op exam, and we had PIV sex a couple of days later. It was fine for my wife, but not so for me.

At 9 weeks, I still have not had an orgasm by any method due to continued discomfort. It is getting is getting better day by day. I know I'm getting very close to overcoming this as the discomfort both in the shaft and in the glans has significantly diminished. We continue to try.

But, as some of the responses here, as well as others on FT covering recovery, some recover very quickly and some, like myself, recover much slower. I just know I have to give it time and ultimately it will all work out.

1sfman, lots of members "think" (maybe hope) that they'll recover quickly. I can tell with all honesty that it is a journey. Sometimes a very long journey. You'll get feeling down because it seems to take forever. Many times you'll think that you'll never (big emphasis on never) be done healing. One day you'll be lounging around & all of a sudden a little light comes on & a voice says to you. Hey, it's been a long time since you've felt pain. That is the sign you have finally won.

Hopefully, (it takes a long time) you'll notice natural engorgement.

Good luck.

1sfman, I had a rough recovery also, and yes it took longer than a lot of guys start feeling 'normal' again. But that was a new normal, in a lot of ways better, but also just different in others. Hang in there :)

I had a very speedy recovery.
Coloplast Titan by Dr Eid.
Gentle masturbation at 9 days. No change in sensation.
Intercourse at 4 weeks. A little achey after but otherwise great.

The things you can do to have a speedy recovery is to 1) choose a great surgeon, and 2) do everything that surgeon says to the letter.

Everything else is out of your control.
57yo, NYC. ED started at 40. Pills, then shots for 10 years. 24cm Coloplast Titan XL w/classic pump by Dr Eid 3/25/2025. Will meet for show & tell.
