Can i doppler scan works if i was not erect ?

32 years old and hopping to get a penile implant soon : no random boners in years, no morning erections in years. can't get erect at all manually, can't have sex. pills don't work (they get me a half chub) basically i can't remember last time i had a real erection (must be years ago)
(p.s. all my blood test are great, high test, etc) + it's not a mental stress problem, it's very physical.

I finally went for a penile ultrasound exam with a top urologist in canadal. He is one of the only 3 doctors in Quebec province that performs penile implant so i figured out that he was competent. (steinberg urology in montreal)

He injected me with low dose and gave me 10 min to try to get an erection even if I told him i have not been able to get an erection manually. Even with the injection, a poor half chub is all i could do. He told me it was enough to do the exam and didnt bother to inject me again to try me to get me harder. is that weird ?! he wanted to rush the exam ?

Result of the exam and 700$ later, he said everything was fine and i had good blood flow, no leakage, and more ''in'' flow of blood than ''out'' flow. he also stated no peyronnies and did not suspect plaque in my penile veins. Also stated i have a strong femoral pulse which is supposed to be good..

I feel completely lost now, he tried to put me again on 5mg daily cialis when i already told him it,s not working. my last hope was an implant but he told me he would not performs it on me because of my young age and my good overall health. i feel hopeless now..

vincentmh, any update since you posted this ? I can't answer the question in your Subject, but, IMHO I think you need to find a urologist that treats ED. Or, if this Dr claims to treat ED, then there should be a care plan that includes a progression of steps to diagnose and treat the condition.

Ask him what the care plan is -- if he doesn't have one ask him if he can refer you to someone who treats ED.

Have you tried to see if can get an erection using a VED? If you are erect in the tube, that at least tells you that you're capable of one. Buy an cheap one to try - If you find that you can, then you might purchase a medical quality VED and use a rings.

i tried some on amazon but it never worked. but i think it was useless ones. do you have any great recommendations ? the FDA approved ones on google are like 300$ +.. i would love somehting cheaper.

I have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about. But I’m going to make stuff up anyway.

Dopplers are shit. They take a “snapshot” of your arterial inflow rate and venous outflow rate. But they don’t measure volume in or volume out. They also don’t measure every vein out.

Do I care if a speck of blood is shooting into my dick at warp speed? No. I want a tsunami of blood going at walking speed.

Fact is, intracavernosal injections are meant to induce an erection so long as your heart still beats. If they don’t, then here’s the explanations:

1: you were mega stressed
2: you’re acutely ill and don’t know it
3: you have a physiological problem with your blood supply to your dick
4: it was an anomaly and next time it’ll work

The results are not pragmatic, anyway. It makes no difference to your treatment outcomes if you break world records on your Doppler results.

Doppler scans are garbage cans where people can be thrown into so that the doctor doesn’t have to do his job. Same with psychogenic ED.

I wish I could be a doctor specialising in ED. My job would be so easy.
