Venous leak - anything on the horizon?

Postby tommydog » Thu Jun 05, 2025 5:00 am

I am 45 years of age and have had severe ED all my life. I remember this as far back as 16 when I first had sex. Since this time, I have only managed penetration for about 30 seconds. I don't get morning erections. The last time I remember having one of these is when I was about 13.

I am currently single and it has made dating almost impossible. I have had partners before, but they quickly loose interest when they realise the problem I have. My sex drive is normal, but I don't even get hard when masturbating.

Over the years I have taken Viagra etc (at maximum permitted dose) but it does nothing. I then tried all the injections (working to maximum dose), but I get nothing. I had a recent Doppler test and the surgeon used the maximum dose for the injection, but my penis just remained flaccid. He remarked to me that this was highly unusual in clinic as most men get some response in terms of an erection. When measuring the blood flow, he said that the blood flow to the penis is higher than normal, but it just immediately exits the penis. I have been diagnosed with a venous leak.

My testosterone is low with a total testosterone of 12.5 nmol/L and free testosterone of 332 pmol/L, however in the UK this is classed as in "normal range". The surgeon declined to prescribe testosterone saying it would not help in any way with regards to the venus leak. If I am honest I don't get any other low test symptoms, as my sex drive is high. I also work out and most people would say I have a decent amount of visible muscle (but I have been working out all my life, so I guess the foundation of my body was built when I had higher test levels).

From what I can see, this is probably the end of the road. I really don't want to have an implant. I hate the thought of bits of mechanical plastic inside me. It's just not for me. I suppose I could look at an embolism, but I have read the long term success rate is not very good. Is there anything better on the horizon?

Dr. Allaire in France could help you! He performs embolization for severe cases like yours!
If you're willing to spend $20,000 on his surgery!
You should consider getting an implant. If the embolization doesn't work, it will give you back your ability to have sex!

Have you had this surgery?

I'm from Argentina, I can't even put together 20,000 dollars in a lifetime!!
I only take Viagra, and I can have sex in 2 or 3 positions!!
If I had the money, I would do it without hesitation!!
For now, I live alone and I'm happy if I find a girl who loves me and helps me make a business decision, I'll consider injections or a prosthesis.
I also need information on how the prosthesis feels.
I think you're the right person to give me advice!!
I've seen that you're very sincere and you help everyone!!
For now, I'm not in a position to make such a big decision!!!
I'd like you to join me on this journey!!
