Hinge effect

Postby ActivePaul » Mon May 19, 2025 11:47 am

Hi, been using a pump and combinations of rings to help with my ED, it’s all going well although finding the right ring to keep me hard and still allow me to ejaculate is a bit tricky. Anyway, I keep getting the dreaded hinge effect whereby my cock is reasonably hard above the ring but soft below which makes penetrative sex difficult as it bends at the bottom. Does anyone know if there is anything I can get to help with this? I’m in the UK so it’s got to be available here.

Thanks

The only aid I know of for that would be one of the penile sleeves. It may make the tight constriction rings more comfortable plus add some stability to the base. Here's a site that has some. I have no experience with this site or the sleeves. I don't know if they will help but it's what I thought of just brainstorming:

Thanks, I’ll have a look although I think it’s an American site and might not ship to the UK. I wonder if there are any other options.

Some folks try different ring sizes or softer materials to find the right balance between keeping hardness and comfort. Maybe look into adjustable or flexible rings—they might reduce that bending issue. Also, there are longer or wider rings that can support more of the shaft, which might help with the bend. You could check UK-based sites or pharmacies for options, or even chat with a specialist who knows about these products.

Thanks, I’ve looked around a bit but not seen anything that I think might work but I’ll have another look. Oxballs look like they do wider rings but get mixed reviews

I am also in the UK what VED are you using I have a prescription soma erect system which with a lot trial and error have got to work for me I use 2 of the largest size ring of different types put one ring and pump again before putting the second ring on, my penis then is then about 90 degrees to my body and fine for piv sex when I orgasm I sometimes manage to ejaculate but mostly it only come out on removing the rings I also own some of the oxball rings but I don't think they would be tight enough on there own to maintain an erection, for me at least
I find that after 20 minutes or so my penis starts to lose a bit of sensitivity so try to make do with that time it's not ideal but this is only way I have found that gets me hard really bad side effects with pills and was using 40 mcg of caverject which is an injection in both sides of my penis just to get maybe 70% erection on a good day good luck

Thanks, yes, I’m using the Soma erect pump as well. The pump is fine, it gets me reasonably hard. If I use the largest ring supplied it is really tight and keeps me hard but I can’t orgasm, I also get a bit of a hinge effect below the ring. I bought some other rings and I’ve tried them in different combinations but they don’t really keep me hard enough for sex but enable me to orgasm. Think I need a really wide ring or sleeve I can put on that will keep me hard, give me some support and enable me to cum, not sure if such a thing exists though

In addition to bldoink's sleeves, here is a set from Amazon, which I think sells in UK. There are three diameters, to go tight to loose. You can make them even tighter by doubling up, but that might stop the semen spurt.

I find that tighter reduces glans sensitivity.

Thanks, I’ll have a look. Trying to find something with extra support length that still lets you cum is difficult
