Excision & Grafting Peyronies Surgery

This is for the guys who experience an onset of curving or bending of their penis. PD is a frustrating condition which often creates significant emotional and mental distress. It overlaps several other sexual function conditions.

Excision & Grafting Peyronies Surgery

Postby Mdlamar24 » Tue May 16, 2023 6:36 pm

Good afternoon,

I am 32 and have had peyronies disease for over a year. I am able to maintain an erection however I no longer have the confidence and also have pain during intercourse. I am interested in the surgery to take out the plaque and straighten the penis.
Has anyone experienced this and who is the best surgeon to have this work done?

Have you tried any injections that are designed to break up any plaque?

Years ago, I went through a long series of Verapamil injections. Several shots per session. They were very painful, turned my dick black and blue with a residual ache that lasted for a couple of days afterward. Granted I had a really severe case with plaque covering 2/3 of the dorsal side (90-degree curve) which may have been more than the Verapamil could affect. I also had a real quack of a doctor, and I think he let me enter the chronic phase before he started treatment and didn't help me at all.
20 years of severe Peyronie's plaque, 90 curve, hinging and ED. Cost me 1.5" L and 1" G.
Implanted 2/18/21, AMS CX, 18 CM + 3 RTE, penoscrotal. Have gained 3/4". Gay, married, age 68.

You might want to add the option of an implant in lieu of grafting as an option.

Depends on what part of the country you are in or are willing to go to .. I had mine done in Tampa Fl by Dr. Carrion who's father helped invent the inflatable implant back in the 70's. He is world renowned and has fellowships at USF where he teaches other dr's the in and out of penile surgery ..

I echo sogwap about the injection treatments for PD. Have you tried it or what about traction devices that are meant to straighten the penis? I seem to recall some videos on youtube where a doctor talks about a traction device for PD treatment. I even read about so called penile modeling where a physician treats your penis with medication and then proceeds to "model" your penis and gently shape it back to where it should be. It sounds very unusual but then again some things call for unusual measures. I find that whole thing fascinating and would like very much to have that job. ;) I would certainly exhaust all options and the less invasive the better in my opinion. The modeling technique may have included pentoxifylline treatment. I think it is both oral and perhaps even injected. I've read about all these things because I myself have some hourglass shaping that starts out as I get erect, but then fills on out. To date nobody has been able to confirm what it is. In the past I've been treated for having PD with topical verapamil, and before that potaba. All seemed useless. Most recently a doctor told me that I may have a weakened area of tunica or something along those lines. He almost seemed to be guessing, and no further investigations or interest from him. To pursue it further I suppose I will have to find a different doctor. It amazes me that here we are in 2023, can go to outer space, do penile implants, organ transplants etc.... but yet NOBODY in the medical field is able or willing to tell me what causes hourglass shape penis. If not PD then what?
