Ok convince me shockwave is a terrible idea?

I’ve read through many many threads and nobody seems to have luck with shockwave, acoustic therapy, Liswt ect. However I’m a member of some ED groups on social media. One group in particular has several members that have bought at home shockwave devices. These guys are strict to the treatment regimens and are reporting results of actual improvement.

One guy had a confirmed venous leak and started using his at home shockwave because oral meds caused severe side effects. He has been using the machine at a regimen of treatments for a month off for a month. He also uses a VED pump on his off days. He has been doing this for a year and his results are great. He had a verified venous leak and was unable to get an erection prior to shockwave. Now he can maintain an erection without any medications for 15mins.

Another person on the group was taking abnormally high doses of viagra and after several months of the shockwave he is able to have spontaneous erections at times and has decreased the viagra dose significantly.

I’m just curious on anyone’s thought? These at home machines aren’t break the bank ones. Prices range from $300-850. Has anyone on here had any luck with one? Has anyone with a venous leak had luck with one?

I went through 14 weeks or so of shockwave therapy. Nothing. I even bought an at home device...BMPotent or something like that. Nothing. I called it "be impotent" although it was supposed to mean "be more potent." I used it regularly for about a month, using the instructions that came with it. I won't say "don't" because there has been some success. I think it may be for those that are not totally ED...erectile DEAD.

It makes no sense how shockwave therapy would work for Venous Leak, unless it was venous leak caused due to Peyronies or scarring etc. Anyway, shockwave therapy is very very doubtful. No one knows which cause of ED it works for, no one has standardised protocols. The studies on it are super small, and low quality.

Here's a video by a urologist who's focussed on Men's Health, on Shockwave therapies. https://youtu.be/tbi51quPDYg
He's highly regarded and a very well recognised, and iirc he's published on shockwave therapy(you can look him up as well his credentials). As the video shows, the evidence is super weak. This is corroborated by your own readings of people trying shockwave therapy and finding no improvements. I'd also be very skeptical of at home shockwave therapy machines.

Had 6 treatments it can help depending on the type of equipement used. Would you take a porche to mudd race.? Not a cure all and requires periodic treatments which are expensive.

I have no idea, I've never tried it. But if I were to try it, I would put myself in the capable hands of an excellent urologist. I would never use a home device.

I don't know what to think of shockwaves. There are many urologists on YouTube that swear by these new therapies but there are many negative testimonials, as well.

From what I have read, these treatments either work rarely or don't work at all, or only work briefly. I guess it's up to each person whether risking thousands of dollars on a bad bet is a terrible idea.

I tried 2 sessions of shockwave treatment and it really didn't do much. After the first session, I did get a pretty hard morning boner the following day. But then again, I still get morning boners from time to time so I am not sure if the shockwave had anything to do with it. After the 2nd session, my dick felt dead. Meaning I could not even get a semi hardon. So I got a bit concerned and decided to stop. Normally you would do 6 sessions but I just felt this was not right for me.

From what I understand, shockwave is best for guys that are still using pills. I am no longer using pills so that could explain why it wasn't that effective for me. The other thing to keep in mind is that this is a temporary fix. Meaning this will last maybe 1-2 years and then you would have to do it again. Some guys even do monthly sessions for "maintenance" purposes. Each session is very expensive so that was another reason I decided to stop.

Its not a terrible idea just one that doesn't have a positive result for 99% of men who try it. The only reported rare success I've heard are from men who've bought their own machines and used them for a very long time. Won't know if it will work for you until you try right????

I bought an at home from Launch Medical...the Phoenix. I've so far used it 1 full month on, one off and am now into my second month.

I saw immediate changes in vascularity of my penis....having veins literally pop out on both sides of my penis that weren't there before the treatments...the one on the right side appeared after the first treatment.

That said, while the first month saw pretty decent gains in erection quality (It should be noted I do NOT have venous leak), spontaneity of erections, and gains in ability to achieve and maintain an erection on my own or with pills....that month off really wore off. I went back to my previous ED levels....now that I've started back in my 2nd month, I'm starting to see some improvement again....

Anecdotally, for me, it's been working. Is it a cure? I don't think so....even my urologist who said to use his special machines at roughly $4k for 6 treatments said 90% of men improve their ED score by 4 points (out of 20 total).

Is it worth the ~$875 or so I paid? To me, I'd pretty much pay anything I could afford to fix this fucking ED problem....$4k was a harder pill to swallow so to me, it was worth it. I'll continue to use it....and when this one wears out...I may buy another.....at least until I may be forced to get an implant one day.

Thanks for the replies guys! The only reason I brought this up was because generally speaking most guys say shockwave is a scam. Heck even the two urologists I’ve seen say shockwave is a sham treatment and advise against it. However like everyone else with this ED crap I’m always keeping up on treatments and reading about things. I’m not the type of person that just takes well there is no cure for your venous leak. I joined a few groups on a popular social media site and on two of the groups had some guys swearing by the launch medical (Phoenix). I’m not endorsing it, I’ve never used it, and I’m not in anyway trying to encourage people to waste money on this machine. However, to date I have read and seen at least 10-12 posts from guys saying it’s helping them. One guy I had a conversation with because he has a confirmed venous leak. Prior to using the shockwave he was unable to obtain an erection and oral medications weren’t an option because of side effects. He has been cycling with the machine at the treat for one month, rest one month for 1 full year and having excellent results. He still has ED but can obtain and maintain an erection for 15 mins with little stimulation. Definitely makes me want to try one of these but hey at the moment I don’t have the $875 to waste on a maybe it’s will help. All the other guys I know that swear by the machine didn’t have a confirmed venous leak. I did however find a blog regarding at home shockwave and the guy who made the blog had a venous leak and bought a cheap at home device off eBay. He also testified that it worked great and he was using injections of trimix if the strongest dose at 50units. While treating himself over the course of several months he noticed that the dose of trimix needed became a lot less. I believe he was able to cut his dose down to 7units of the standard dose of trimix. He wasn’t able to get off the trimix though but he also had a cheap version of a shockwave bought from eBay. Anyways just my 2 cents at the current time I’m still not investing in a $875 at home machine. I believe the claim to this machine is that it models the gainswave but at home. I haven’t really read anything good about the gainswave to date.
