My situation - some advice and input needed - Hard flaccid for 5+ years

Postby newbiehere23 » Wed Mar 16, 2022 5:07 pm

Hello all,

I'm a 30 year old male that has had hard flaccid for 5+ years. I got it from an accident and it has left me with some ED. I've tried all the pelvic floor, the physio, the trigger point therapies...none of it worked. I will admit by saying that I do still get erections, I get morning wood and sexual intercourse can be completed 75-80% of the time. I have used cialis and viagra but they give me really nasty side effects and I do not think I could use them consistently. They fuck with my heart.

Although I can still get erections, it definitely is not the same. I need hours before I can go again and my erection often weakens during intercourse and then I need to switch positions to get it back again. I cannot thrust as fast because that causes me the erection to weaken and I lose my erection during intercourse 15-20% of the time. If I go more than 2-3x a day (with the help of cialis), I need at least one day of rest. Long story short, my performance is much different and not anywhere near like before.

I have been thinking about an implant but I realize that most surgeons might not touch me because of the fact that I get erections but they are much more different and the performance and no where near as before. What do you guys recommend or am I jumping the gun here thinking about an implant?

Newbiehere23, I think your question falls outside of the realm of what a group of amateurs on a forum can address. Please seek medical advice first. Then report back.

Fair point. The problem in Canada is they won’t touch you if you’re young and especially cause my Doppler is normal, they think I’m a head case although all guys with my condition show normal Doppler ultrasounds. I just wanted to see what it’s like where implants are paid for and even tho I can still get erections, would they touch me considering Money is involved.

They give me shitty side effects and raise my heart rate a lot so they prob aren’t good for that.

Ok, better data points. I would suggest that you gather up all your test results. Find a US doctor that seems at the very least competent on implants. Schedule a video conference with him or if possible, visit him in person. You might have to pay for a video conference. Being non American I'm fairly sure you'll have to pay to see any of them in person. My first appointment with my doctor cost me $5usd. That was with insurance. You'll need to ask his staff about a cash pay appointment.
I'm sorry but this is about all that I can think of that might help you. But I'm fairly sure that you could find an USA surgeon for you. But he might require more testing than an patient that has total ED.
Good luck.

Welcome to the forum, newbiehere23 and thanks for trusting us with your question.

When you get negative feedback from the Canadian Healthcare system, have they taken into account your history of injury and treatments tried? Dealing with a bureaucracy can be frustrating, but it seems to me that you should get a positive hearing if your presentation is persuasive enough.

Can you get your primary care physician to write a letter of recommendation?

They might prescribe injections or suppositories which you might find satisfactory.

Good luck.

When you talk with anyone, take notes, remember their names (people love to be remembered) and than everyone (even if they were not helpful - they did give you their time and they may remember you with more kindness the next time you speak). This worked for me when a travel nurse who was not helpful earlier in my quest remembered me and called me up when she heard of a surgeon recently assigned who had actually taught the procedure.

Can you get it outside of state insurance (as in paying cash).

Yes. I live in Canada (public healthcare) but am looking in the USA (private healthcare) to pay in cash.

The decision to go bionic must not be taken lightly. At your age, there will be a number of revisions and the risk of infection apparently increases with the number of revisions. Then there is the cost (20K or more) and the pain involved with each surgery.

I know you yearn for the glory days (as do I), but many (myself included) would envy your current ability. 2-3 times a day with just a day's rest in between? I'd be happy with 1 decent performance a week!

Weigh your options carefully. Once you are in, you are all in.
