Gabapentin & Tramadol: Can't Climax

I was in a traumatic crash about 5 years ago and have severe rib pain as a result. I am currently taking 1800 mg Gabapentin and 300 mg Tramadol daily. I cannot climax at all, no matter how much my partner tries. I have taken morphine and fentanyl patch in the past with similar results. Perhaps maybe an aphrodisiac might help?

Welcome to the forum.
The drugs you're on certainly aren't going to help. And I certainly don't have any answers there. If you need the drugs for pain, then you need the drugs. If you're in a State where it's legal you might try THC and CBD and see if that allows you to back off on the narcotics. Some guys have been experimenting with PT-141 and report some success. You'd have to do your own research there as I know nothing about the stuff.

You could also try adding some anal stimulation. A vibrator town there might push you over if it's something your partner would be ok with trying.

Good luck.

Gabapentin is a notorious orgasm inhibitor. Don't know about Tramadol.

I complained of ongoing neck pain that was bothering me, and I just couldn't seem to get it to go away. I saw a doctor and he wanted to put me on Gabapentin. Once he told me it was a "seizure" medicine or something along those lines, I got scared out. I didn't have seizure troubles so I thought it best not to mess with such a thing.

Anyway the neck pain took longer to go away than I would have liked, but it did eventually work its way out. I think for me physical therapies helped me the most. I am a strong believer in exercise and therapies as some of the best medicines. I didn't know gabapentin caused orgasm issues. Not fun at all. I hope you find something that works for you allows for sexual pleasure as well.

I have been on gabapentin for a couple of months now, 2000 mg per day. Reaching a climax has been increasingly difficult in that time. Not sure if it is helping with my neuropathy (post-chemo), so after seeing this forum thread yesterday, I called the pall. care nurse and am slowly going off the gabapentin. I'll report back in about a month with my reaction/results. Thanks, FT buddies!

Update: Back to "normal" climax now that I'm off the Gabapentin. However, my ED has progressed to where getting erection is very difficult. Injections still work OK, but not good enough. I am so looking forward to my implant this summer!
