New to group. 74 healthy normal BMI no meds happily married 40+yrs. We had mostly morning sex almost daily until about a year ago and things slowed down. I have used herbals, cock rings, viagra, pumps moderately and AFAIK my organ is healthy and undamaged. Problem now is that I can't keep a nice erection (morning wood) long enough to mount her. It is like a tire going flat or something shutting off the "power". Sensation stops and it goes soft, right after lubing up. I stopped trying 6 months ago and only try to masturbate with difficulty. Sometimes hard but no sensation. Sometime soft but I ejaculate. HELP!

Sounds like your next step is tri mix or quadmix.

I think you are doing great for your age. I am one year younger than you and I believe your problems are age related.

Do you think the not being able to get an erection solo is performance anxiety related? Most guys when E D sets in at any age over react to it and this can even develop into an anxiety performance syndrome. I know, and I have conquered it with the goodness of God learning to relax and meditatively enjoy the pleasure in my body either with my wife or solo.

Good luck to you. Check out urologist in your area who are friendly to progressive treatments such as trimix and quadmix

And congratulations to you bro on your sexual powers. Not many men I know as friends or relatives are going as strong sexually as you did at age 73. You are a gifted man sexually.

Don't overthink this. It only leads to despair which is a door to anxiety. Take the action you need to stay sexual with your wife as we men are geared for the intimacy of intercourse and sexual intimacy and the feeling of our erections in our wives vagina. It is who we are as men to love and feel our cocks in a loving warm vagina. Godspeed on adjusting to the challenges of age and staying sexual.
74 years young GYMRAT. Married 48 years. On cialis 5mg daily. Into MMOs, prostate orgasms, and ruined orgasms to help erectile health. Thinking of an implant. Monogamy is good for a man.

Holy shit, dude...you could get up/get off until age 74 without so much as a pill! You are a true god in my book!! As suggested, the next step is injection of Bi-Mix (alprostodil and phentolomine) or Tri-Mix (alprostodil, phentolomine and papaverine). So, based on your super human powers, you should probably start thinking about an implant in your mid-to-late 90s!! :D
Implanted 5/6/20 by Dr. Jesse Mills at UCLA; AMS 700 LGX 18 cm w/2 cm RTEs. I'm 73 & fit but had ED for 20 years. Pills/injections ultimately failed, including 3 ER trips for Priapism; Shockwave & embryonic stem cell therapies didn't help either.

Wife and I were still having sex several times a week up till 75 when I had PC. Several times a day when younger. I have to think erotic thoughts to come now. It really turns me on to rub her lubed up anus with my thumb because that has been a no zone for quite a few years.

Congrats on getting your wife to allow you anywhere near her anus! That's been a "no fly" zone for the 40 years that my wife and I have been together. Maybe she'll eventually change by the time I reach your age!

Matthew, how long has it been since your surgery? It can take quite a while for everything to heal up all the way and for any damaged nerves to knit together. It took me 5 months after the surgery (4 months after the doc said I could go back to having sex) before I was able to have an orgasm and even then, it took some serious dedication and work to make it work. Finally got back to normal and threw a monkey wrench into the works with FlowMax. Now nothing... again. And I stopped taking the FM in January! Still hoping, still trying and not going to give up til I die. Still feels goid to work it over (sometimes for hours!) but no happy ending. Very frustrating, to say the least so I know where you're (not) coming from!
Cheers,
crkckr
