Having lost a good bit of sensitivity, I find it impossible

What do you think contributes to your loss of sensitivity?
Was it from circumcision or other never damage from some other surgery? Straddle injury?

I too have less sensitivity on the penis, and I feel like I try to compensate by looking for other areas that will bring about orgasm. My prostate must not be very sensitive either because I can't do what you describe. With less sensitivity in your penis, I guess that is how you compensate through your prostate.

As I told a friend, having it done by a doctor or doing it
yourself is NOTHING NOTHING like having your wife or

I think my loss of sensitivity is old ago (79) and clothes
contacting penis over many years.

I find the depth of penetration is rather short. There are
many nerve endings near the Anu s (censor). I make sure
I'm clean to spare my wife. I offered to have her use
a condom (early on) but she declined. If you have an
accomodating wife it's wonderful. Not a deep penetration
for me.

An orgasm from a prostrate massage feels nothing like a penile orgasm. Anal sex used to get me a good orgasm or three, but I was never lucky enough to have a penile orgasm at the same time.
