Let's do a research project

Postby Martin6469 » Sat Mar 20, 2021 5:13 pm

When I saw my urologist nurse-practitioner for my yearly Trimix refill, I asked her if there was any remedy for glans sensitivity decreasing with age. She said "If you have no spinal cord compression or injury, all I can think of is: don't take cold medicine for a few days before sex because Benadryl and such antihistamines are thought to affect neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine."

Over some weeks I thought of some more questions and went to a dermatologist for a minor procedure, unrelated to my ED, and when she finished I said that my glans is getting less sensitive with age, and did she know of a remedy. She said "No, I'm sorry I don't;" then I said "I thought the special nerve endings in the glans and clitoris must be the same - my wife is my age and reports that her clitoris is just as sensitive as when she was young - what's the difference?" She said "Are you circumcised?" I said "Yes" and she said "That's maybe the reason - your glans has been rubbing on your clothing all your life; our clits are better protected against friction." I asked her if there was a field of dermatology that studies the special nerve endings on the glans, since they're important to most guys! She didn't know of such a sub-field, but agreed that research ought to be done, and said "I think neurologists study those nerves." So then I put a bug in her ear: I said "How'd you like to get rich? There are so many of us baby boomers - if you could invent something, you'd be a millionaire in a week, and a multi-millionaire the next week! - I'll be your first research subject!" She laughed and said "It's a deal, but I have many patients with every problem but special nerve endings, so don't hold your breath!"

So I struck out twice, but here's my proposal: if each of us asked this question of our urologists, G.P.s, neurologists, and dermatologists, when we went in for something, maybe one of us would find a doc who knows something about a remedy. (Don't forget to report back here!)

Dude, you're 75 and still able to get it up on Tri-Mix! That is very impressive!! I'm just a couple of years younger than you and the pain in my dick from Tri-Mix was so bad that it was impossible to enjoy sex...and it lasted (not the erection, the pain) for many hours afterward. Thus, I pulled the handle on the nuclear option last year. No more erectile problem but sensitivity isn't what it was pre-implant, so no orgasms/ejaculations from sexual activity and EXTREME difficulty even with masturbation.
I've tried every possible remedy known to medical science and even a few that aren't. Doctors consulted/ prescribers include my implant surgeon/urologist, neurologist, cardiologist, gastroenterologist, pulmonologist and psychologist. I've used pills, gels, drops, troches and even high end vibrators for men. Could it be that my wife of 38 years just doesn't turn me on anymore? I tested that theory out too with a younger, smoking hot tantra goddess and still not able to cum. So much for that theory!
Another member of FT suggested apomorphine sublingual troches, which I had delivered yesterday. I took one about an hour ago to test it out (a dry run so to speak -- pun intended) and feel some stirring in my loins. That's a positive sign! I'll let you and the community know if it translates in the bedroom.

Hi Barry, I read somewhere that apomorphine is used as an emetic (induces vomiting), so you might want to start slow (and with empty stomach!) But I'll be very interested in what you find.

My semen dried up two or so years ago, but I could still get orgasms. Recently I've had trouble getting that far about half the time, but I still get satisfaction from getting hard, penetrating my wife, and thrusting, it's the masculine thing still, and she gets satisfaction from the thrusting. So it's a new ED phase. I have her tell me when she's had enough, then I simply stop. (We get her an orgasm each time with a big dildo, usually ahead of my penetration.) I'm thinking she and I will still get satisfaction from doing this when I'm finally unable to cross the finish line.

Thanks, Martin. Each apomorphine sublingual troche is 12 mg and the suggested dose per lovemaking session is 3 mg, so I cut the troche in quarters. It is supposed to take about 20 minutes to work and last for up to 2 hours. So I slipped a 3 mg troche under my tongue about 20 minutes before my wife and I got together last night. Unfortunately, still no orgasm or ejaculation happened for me even after having my dick in her hands, mouth and pussy! Tomorrow I'm having an MRI with contrast of my lumbar and sacrum to find out if there's a nerve issue causing my problem. If that doesn't yield any actionable solution, it will be time for me to work on acceptance and go on with my life.

I've posted this message in similar form several times. We have made our peace with me not ejaculating vaginaly, now after 2 years after ramping down for a year. No refractory period seems to work. At first she was concerned and thought it was her but I assured her it was just me. We've altered refractory period, tried oxytocin, used nerve stimulator creams, am not taking any indicted and drugs, and tried welbutrin. I work it off later by hand with occasional increasing difficulty to keep the prostate cleaned out. And because of DE, we can now go until she is fully satisfied, usually 30-60 minutes when I get the white flag of sweet surrender. She half jokingly asks now, "where was this the last 50 years . . . " There is a big upside.

A happy update to my post above...
My MRI results showed that I have compression of my spinal cord at L4-5/S1 which my surgeon says "might" be causing anorgasmia. Ironically, since my previous post I've hit home runs 3 straight times during sex after 11 months of continuously striking out post-op. I'm just using the apomorphine troches and my daily 5 mg of Cialis at the moment and looking forward to my next at bat! My apologies to you guys around the world who are unfamiliar with baseball terminology!

I've now climaxed seven consecutive times during sex either with my wife or Tantra Goddess so it would seem that my sensitivity has finally returned one year post-op, allowing me to orgasm and ejaculate every time. I'm a very happy camper now and will not be posting in this thread anymore. However, feel free to send me a PM if I can help another brother struggling with anorgasmia.

You call you wife, “Tantra Goddess”?

Or is that your mistress or a masturbation device?

Not my wife. Google it and find out for yourself what a Tantra Goddess is! :D

Barry, do you think the apomorphine helped? Are you still using it? And if so, where did you get the prescription filled. I struggle with delayed orgasm a bit and would like to give it a try if you have found it helpful.
52yo, NYC. ED started at 40. 60 units BiMix + Atropine (Pap 30/Phen 6/Atr 0.2). Tri & QuadMix prostaglandins cause aching. Doses increasing. VED each morning to maintain size. Eager to talk about implant experiences.
