Re: Anyone here had luck with Cabergoline to improve orgasm chances ?

Add me to the list of men who have tried to treat delayed/absent orgasm using cabergoline without any effect.
Disappointing...
There was one study on this (find the abstract at pubmed.com) from several years ago, though I haven't seen any follow up studies...often this is a sign that it doesn't work so well.
In medical research, it's rare for authors to publish "negative results". Honest...I'm a doctor and this is often joked about at meetings.
Everyone wants to publish the paper that shows a promising treatment, but no one wants to publish the paper that concludes that the promising treatment is a bust.

I tried Cabergoline for Anorgasmia but did not have any success with it. I took it for a long time finally quit taking it because of cost and no positive results.

I have never heard of Cabergoline used for anorgasmia.

I have heard of it used to reduce or eliminate the refractory period after ejaculation. Even some reports of multiple orgasms and sex sessions on a single continuous erection.

Yes. I recently started taking it and what an improvement it seems to have made.

I've been taking Cabergoline for three months and while I still have a bit of difficulty getting an orgasm (only once so far with PIV, most times after 30-40 minutes masturbating), I have discovered that my sexual appetite is voracious now. I also came out as bisexual two weeks ago as well so I'm not sure if coming out is increasing my libido emotionally or the Cabergoline has caused a hyper-sexuality (a known side effect) that led me to come out. Don't care though. I feel great and am having the best time of my life.

I know that if I have cycled for an hour ( usual daily) that its more difficult to orgasm PIV . I should wait a day before having sex and that helps. My dick is sore and less sensitive.

Cabergoline seems to make things worse for me, both with orgasms and with erections. My most recent labs for prolactin where 18.3 and 17.5. (reference range = 4.0 – 15.2). I’m on testosterone therapy, and my test, DHT, and estradiol levels are all fine. I’m extremely sensitive to Cabergoline, so I’m now trying a lower dose (1/4 tab = .125 mg) every week. Otherwise, my prolactin levels go too low. So far, the lower dose doesn’t seem to help, but it’s not as bad at the higher dose.

Alexxx, you said your prolactin levels go too low? How is lower prolactin levels a problem in a man? I understood that other than starting the refractory process, that prolactin in a man is basically like men's breasts - not necessary in the grand scheme.

What affects do you notice when your prolactin is "too low"? What I have found is that with the cocktail of drugs and supplements below, my sexual appetite is strong and I'm always up for some sexual fun, even after orgasm.

0.5 mg Cabergoline twice weekly (BIW)
5 mg Tadalafil (Cialis) daily
4500 mg Pygeum Bark (4x equivalent extract) daily
50 mg zinc
2400 mg Lecithin (usually Sunflower derived but taking Soy right now)
5 mg Yohimbine HCl as needed (1 hr before activity)

With my original trial or Cabergoline, my prolactin levels dropped to 1.1 (reference range = 4.0 – 15.2). At this level, I could not obtain even a tiny amount of an erection. I felt very numb, and no amount of stimulation produced any pleasure. An orgasm was hopeless. My doctor had given me a range of doses of Cabergoline to try. My first small dose did not produce desirable results. I increased the dosage and the results were worse. It felt like my estrogen levels were too high, so I also tried increasing my anastrozole (to reduce estrogen levels) and that didn't improve things. My doctor said that I seem to be very sensitive to Cabergoline, so he suggested trying smaller doses with lower frequency. So far, it doesn't seem helpful. If anything, the lower dose just seems less bad. I"m also hyper-sensitive to anastrozole, if that means anything. I take 0.05 mg every 5 days (total test ~ 800).

I've read that men don't need any prolactin, and that there should be no concern about have low levels. I don't know if my experience proves otherwise, or whether it's the secondary effects of Cabergoline that is causing the problems. I believe that it also lowers growth hormone and who knows what else. Men need a finite amount of estrogen. I can obtain erections with low estrogen, but I feel a bit numb, and orgasms are weak and/or difficult.

I was implanted by Dr, Hakky in atlanta on the 1st of September. I mentioned to him that I was having problems cumming. That it was getting worse.
He put me on Cabergoline 0.5 MG. The results have been great! It took a couple months but now I am having orgasms again. It has also improved my Testosterone levels and sex drive. All I'm saying is that it worked for me.
Dr Hakky is hands down the best! All other Urologist ignored my complaints as if I were just old. One even suggested I call it quite on sex LOL. I told him I'd stop when he did.
If any of you guys are looking for a great Urologist and are within driving distance Doctor Hakky is the man! He restored me to be able to have sexual pleasures that I had been missing for years
