I use constriction devices (cock rings) as part of my set of tactics to deal with ED.

From experience, I can tell you that the longer I have a constriction device in place, the less sensitive is the glans of my penis.

As a way to manage this negative side effect, I have switched from cock rings to pony tail bands. This way, I can have as many or as few as I need to have a hard erection, and still maintain the sensitivity I want.

Initially, I have 2 or 3 in place. As intercourse with my wife progresses, I may remove one or more bands to keep a hard erection and reduce the loss of sensitivity they usually cause. Sometimes, I end up with none in place, as my erection becomes quite firm and I want my sensitivity to increase to the maximum.

In the last 3 weeks, I've been taking Cabergoline (0.5 mg twice per week) specifically to treat anorgasmia.

Cabergoline is known to have some undesirable side effects and one rarely documented, very desirable side effect: hypersexuality.

My experience to date:
After taking the drug for about 1.5 weeks, I began to notice some differences in my psyche, sort of like not being completely there or not being the self I'm used to, maybe a slightly altered state of consciousness? I'm not sure about what I'm experiencing and it's a little difficult to describe, although I'm still fully functional in my life: I drive, I work in Information Technology, I fix broken appliances. This difference in my psyche hasn't impaired me. That's the best I can do to describe my experience of what I think is an altered state of consciousness, possibly from taking Cabegoline.

Plus one other thing has changed:
I'm starting to think about sex during my workdays, something I haven't done much of in years. And I mean like a teenager who can't keep his mind off of it. I can best describe this state of mind as being horny, really horny, a term I have not used to describe myself in years. I almost desperately want to have sex with my wife.

About 1.5 weeks ago, after a 2 week "drought", I had an orgasm from heaven. I mean an "Oh, God, thank You", body wracking orgasm, an experience I have not had in many months. To confuse matters a little bit, I had just stopped using Trimix and went back to Bimix to eliminate the damn pain caused by the prostaglandin ingredient in Trimix. Anyway, I had a killer orgasm after intercourse lasting nearly 2 hours. My wife loved it.

Then, about a week later, I had another killer orgasm after about an hour of intercourse. My wife loved it, too.

Several days later, last night, I had a completely unexpected orgasm in the first 5 minutes of intercourse (it just happened), followed by another really powerful orgasm about 20 minutes later. My wife was mesmerized. Afterward, my whole body was as limp as a wet t-shirt. My wife described my orgasm to me later; I was pretty much gone during the experience.

It's been about 40 years since I've been able to have back-to-back orgasms, an experience I left behind in my 20's. I'm now in my 70's.

I don't know if all of what I'm experiencing is due to Cabergoline or something else, but I'm going to keep taking the Cabergoline and request refills on the prescription.

(Note: Cabergoline lowers prolactin levels in the body. When my doctor tested my prolactin levels before prescribing Cabergoline, they were near the low end of the normal range.)

Thanks for this advice about the drug you are using and good description of what is good, bad, weird?, etc. I can achieve orgasm fairly readily by masturbating if I don't over do it (frequency wise) but gotten to where I basically can't get off during intercourse before I just start feeling too tired to continue. Have an implant so no worries about losing the erection, that's one problem that was awesomely solved. An implant doesn't fully fill out the glans so I wonder if that might cause a bit of the lower sensitivity, although I was experiencing this issue before the implant (July '17). Can always get my wife off but she misses knowing she's also doing it for me. I explain the emotional satisfaction I'm getting, it frankly isn't bothering me that much to not have the orgasm, but it is bothering her to a greater extent. I have my VA annual next week and I'm going to bring it up and see if I can get referred back to urology clinic where I got my implant and bring up this drug.
Surgery at VA July 2017 after many years struggling with pills, shots, pump, etc. Should've done it way sooner! October 2020: VA just replaced the first one with another due to stuck valve...AMS 700 LGX.

redandwhite,

I've read on this forum that some guys have had success restoring their glans size by taking Viagra before sex. I intend to try it when I have an IPP (soon).

I understand your wife's concern about your lack of orgasms. My wife and I both enjoy each other's orgasms. When one of us is not having them, it bothers both of us because we're not experiencing the bonding experiences they seem to bring. We miss them and do what we can to get the other person restored back to normal.

I hope you have good outcomes from your VA visit.

I’ve had the same problem for years now. Began in my 40s maybe once per month. Now it’s 50% of the time and frustrating. I began Cabergoline .05mg 2x per week and the first week was three nights of wow. Now there doesn’t seem to be much of an effect. Maybe my NSAIDs. I will try refraining from them to see if that helps. I also take Arimidex, Testosterone shots and Trimix.
Thanks

I take 300mg of extended release Wellbutrin and it prolongs me being able to orgasm. My wife is a trooper but sometimes she cant take me going on forever...and believe it or not sometimes...alot of times... I have to fake an orgasm so I can quit. Never thought that would happen.

Now that I solved the ED problem, the next one to work on is Anorgasmia, which I experience with or without the VED/rings. I sense that it might be mental as I get close to orgasm - think about it and lose it. in other words trying to hard, not relaxing and not letting it go (or cum).
Anyone in Franktalk Land experienced similar difficulty and overcome it? How?
