Most times, ED is ED. But sometimes, concerns are going to be different.

Touchy subject

Postby alibaba » Fri Oct 17, 2014 8:15 pm

Wondering if there are any who have had an implant who also have HIV? P.M. me if you like. wondering if there were any issues and if infection is a concern. Have a doc appt. but still trying to get up the nerve to do this. Trying not to back out.
thanks

Hi - I have been seeing a local Urologist for about 4 years. I am currently using Tri-Mix injections. My urologist has discussed a future implant for me and he knows that I am HIV+. He has not indicated any concerns in that regard.

Thanks. Have had some docs that are phobic asses in the past. Meet the new one in a week. Bringing it up with ID doc next week too for his o.k.. I have had 10 surgeries w/o complication since diag. but I too often hear about infected implant concerns. Thank you for the post.

I am HIV + and my surgeon or any other doctor had no issue with me getting the implant. Infections are always a concern, but when discussing that possibility, it was more to just inform me of it. Everything turned out great and I had no issue.

I've had 2 implants now. 1st doctor said it was a higher risk but not a problem, 2nd doctor and Dr. Eid both said it was a non issue. 22 surgeries since positive and no issues. Hope saying this does not jinx it but it is almost a non issue. The ones who make a big deal turn out to be doctors you do not want to see anyway. Cheers.
