Gay Men and Retrograde/No Ejaculation

Hi guys, my urologist is recommending TURP for an enlarged prostate, and one of the nearly guaranteed side effects is retrograde ejaculation. Obviously there's a quality of life issue, but I'm really hesitant about this, especially as a gay man because I feel like the cum part of cumming is a pretty important part of the sexual experience for me and my partners. Any guys have experience with this? How do you experience it and how do your partners feel about it or react?
