Gay Frank Talk members?

Most times, ED is ED. But sometimes, concerns are going to be different.

I'm 65, gay and married to my longtime lover. I'm also implanted and haven't heard any complaints from my husband. :D

My gay friends call me an "honorary gay". :D does that count?

I'm a single gay guy in Houston. About to schedule implant surgery with Dr. Robert Cornell in Houston. I've had one appointment with him and I have my follow up this afternoon to discuss the surgery. I had a great 1st meeting with Dr. Cornell. He's younger than I expected. I'd say he's probably in his 40s. He looks young. A few things are obvious, he's very bright, very kind and very easy to talk to. His office staff are very efficient and polite.

I'm hoping to schedule the surgery for mid May 2016. I'm really nervous about the procedure. I'm afraid of the recovery period. I'm a school teacher so that allows me to take the entire summer off (May thru August). I figure that will give me plenty of time to heal and get used to the implant. I have a few questions if you would be so kind to help me out with answers.

1 - Have any of you guys worked with Dr. Cornell? If so could you please tell me your experience?

EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T WORK WITH DR. CORNELL, CAN YOU ANSWER THE BELOW QUESTIONS?

2 - What device did you have implanted? Did you maintain your desired length and girth?
3 - How long were you in pain following the surgery?
4 - How long did it take to get back to a normal daily life?
5 - Do you have a good sex life now? Dating? Casual sex life?
6 - I unfortunately plan on doing this alone. I don't really have anyone to share it with except my older brother who lives in Denver. I'll be getting through the recovery period by myself, including getting home from the hospital. Will I be able to drive? What are things I should do to prepare myself for the 1st few weeks after the procedure? Are there things I should buy to make my recovery as smooth as possible? Certain foods, pharmacy items, etc.

I sound like a crazy guy with so many questions. However I can't turn off my mind and my concerns. Anyone who can reach out to me with information will be so greatly appreciated.

Thanks you guys.

I'm going to answer because the answer is straight up and my gay friends refer to me as their "honorary gay" friend. All the answers to you questions are the same for anyone and can be found in the implant forum. You may need to hire you an escort to go home with you or take you home if you do not have friends, co-workers or family willing to do so. You do not have to explain what kind of surgery you had. Many if not most hospitals will not allow you to take a taxi home. Several times I have read in the discharge papers you will not be discharged to take a taxi or any mass transit home. Be well and good luck. Glad you like your doctor.

I am scheduled for surgery on Sept. 12, '16. Like the others that are waiting, excited and nervous. I have watched all the videos on YouTube and the ones I could find on web sites. Everything happened so fast. Met with my urologist on June 22nd, told her I wanted to be evaluated for an implant, she wrote it up and set the request to VA Hospital in Pittsburgh, met with a resident last week, and got a phone call two days ago that my surgery will be next month. My implant is to be a AMS 700 LGX Penile Prosthesis. Have no idea who the surgeon will be, I may find out when I go to Pittsburgh for whatever test they will do so to get me ready for surgery. I live in Ashtabula, OH (NE part of Ohio, 60 miles East of Cleveland. Only been a member here for a couple of days and still learning my way around Frank Talk. I am 68 years young, gay, only accepted myself as gay about eight years ago. Wasted so much of my life making others sad, including myself but that is in the past and I don't live there anymore. I am looking to the future. Get my implant done and then try to find a guy that in interested in a relationship. But I let the ED hold me back way, way to long.
