Meet new friends

Postby Anonymous FT Member » Sun Aug 21, 2022 1:14 am

Any advice for meeting new friends?
I would like to meet other guys with similar interests as mine and to just be able to take walks somewhere interesting or beautiful. Also interested in getting physically active with a buddy and be able to go for a swim or hit the gym together.

I know some people will default to saying things like go to a bar, or use this app or that app, but aren't there any good and basic ways to interact with another human being without needing a smart phone or web cam? Not only that, but I'm not into heavy drinking or worshiping sports teams.

Don't worship a sports team. BE ON a sports team. Ultimate Frisbee. Join a gym and just be open to anyone friendly or who seems compatible. Do you have a hobby, like quilting, shooting sports, playing music (go play at local open mics), etc? Anything that puts you out of the house. Most suggestions that come to mind are advice I got as a heterosexual, but it seems to me that it applies all across the spectrum of sexuality. Of course, you may (I assume) have the complication of determining receptivity of a friend to a sexual component if that is part of what you seek. But similar interests are similar interests and friendships are friendships nonetheless.

So, what hobbies, interests, pastimes to you enjoy?

Gym works for me. Even if you are not into lifting, treadmill, stairmasters all work.

I met a couple of guys, was invited to a party. Ended up of the 12 of us, half of us had an implant. Some interesting conversations...

I stumbled onto a website called Meetup.com a while back. You can look for groups or activities you're interested in.
Fifty-one years old. ED started at age forty. I took Cialis for eight years and used Trimix for almost three. Implanted 12/6/22 by Dr. Jonathan Clavell. AMS 700CX 21cm.

Wow! What are the odds that in a theoretically random group of men, 50% would be implanted? Or was the gym next door to Dr Perito's offices? :D

I think I'm familiar with that site. If I recall, it seemed as though everything coming up was too far away.

When I go to the gym and pool everybody seems to be in their own little world. Smart phone in one hand and ear buds in the ears. How can I compete with that?

I've never played sports my whole life. At age 39 I don't know what kind of sports teams I would even be eligible to be on. I would maybe be open to it.
I like going to gyms and pools, I like parks, I like gardening, I like a little wood working. I used to do a little ice skating but that was probably 10 or more years ago. I used to play a little rhythm guitar, but I was never in a band or group. Really only played with family.

Find a gym catering to a gayer clientele. Go to a couple gay bars. Even if you just drink 7 up. Some bars have a very low key chill environment. I go to Martini bar not a club, talk the person next to me get introduced to somebody else and then I kind of keeps going. You connect with one person on Facebook and you connect one of their friends then you get invited to house parties, pool parties, etc.

I was in a long-term relationship for many years. Once I moved out of that I started pushing to meet others. Now I have pool invites, nude parties, invites on boats, etc.

It isn't easy but there are a lot of options.
