I've mentioned this in the past and will again. I know all you young boys are trying to find the easiest, fastest and cheapest fix toward a rock hard dick. Years ago, before the doctors at Washington University School of Medicine started fighting among themselves like a bunch of preschool children, my urologist was Dr. Stephen Brandes who specialized in penile trauma or cancer reconstruction. One of the discussions we had was about veins and nerves of the penis. He told me they used to use sclerotherapy, a common practice for 65 years for varicose veins in the legs but quit it because the penis would just find another route to drain the blood . You could not keep shutting off routes of blood flow without creating issues and the body would find a new route. He said the same about nerves in the penis. He said they used to snip the nerves to help control premature ejaculation but that had been discontinued because they would grow back together in a few years.
From a mechanical standpoint the PDE5 inhibitors ( viagra, cialis et cetera) expand your veins. Having one therapy that fills a vein full of caustic chemical to kill it and another to expand them seem counter productive. Think about it seriously.
If sclerotherapy worked so damn good, it would be the prime method of treatment. As it is, only a couple doctors in the world will do it and as far as I can see on any forum I read ( some only have 30 members), no person has been 100% cured by it based on no need for other measures to get or maintain an erection. I really really hate to see you fine young boys destroy part of your body which sclerotherapy does to find it does nothing or little for you. Every missing part of my body I wish I had back. Many surgeries are a surgery there is no return, no go back to the way you were.

Hi guys,

Sorry for the late update. I have been very busy at work and in my personal life. I also wanted to give myself more time to really provide an honest assessment of my condition. Here is my conclusion: sclerotherapy did not do anything for me. My penis is the exact same I had pre-op. The good news however is that it did not make things worse, aside from leaving a scar on my penis. The other good news is that the thought of ''what if it worked for me'' is now gone. I can now move on the next chapter knowing sclerotherapy did not help me.

Now, having this said, before getting sclerotherapy, Dr. Kuehhas said no venous leak was detected so he admitted that I was not considered a good candidate for sclerotherapy. I decided to go for it anyways cause I felt it was my last option before going for the implant, which I am still not ready to get. This is why I might not be the best person to rely on to assess the effectiveness of sclerotherapy. True, nobody in this forum who got sclerotherapy has been ''cured'' from scleorehterapy, but some got an improvement. I said it before and I'll say it again, if sclerotherapy would have permitted me to have sex using only pills, I would have been very happy. If you feel the same, then sclerotherapy might be an option for you. Keep in mind that Gollam reported getting worse by sclerotherapy though...

The good news in my case though, is that injections (Caverject) work a lot better for me since I place the needle 45 degrees to my shaft as opposed to 90 degrees like I use to. It seems like the product I was injecting was not all going in the corpus cavernosa like it should have. I now need a lot less medication and it works even better.

True, penile injections aren't very practical and it kills the spontaneity. However, in my case, it is currently giving me extremely good results. Unfortunately, I cannot use Caverject more than 3 times a week and I am at the risk of developing penile fibrosis (peyronie's disease). I am only in my early 30s, so I am probably at a very high risk of getting penile fibrosis sooner or later. The way I see it, if it can work for me until my late 40s, early 50s, I'll be very happy. When I reach that age, I might be ready to get a penile implant, and who knows, maybe there will be a new treatment available for ED...

Thank you for giving a very good assessment how things went.
Good luck and watch closely for hourglassing and bends in your penis or taking longer to fill with blood, all signs fibrotic tissue is growing. I was advised to inject slowly also to reduce the chance of fibrosis. Do not know brand names but some auto injectors if you use one inject slowly.
Best of luck.
Cheers.

I'd rather wait until the injections don't work anymore... Who knows, maybe they'll work for another 10 years if I'm lucky!

Maybe they will perfect the science in that time too!

Thanks for the update, sorry it didn't work for you. I really think this should be made wide knowledge that sclero clearly doesn't work. I'd be so aggrieved if I went through all the time, effort and money and trusting the doctor for something that has had no provable results from anyone having it done. He shouldn't be allowed to offer it if it doesn't work.

Avl_uk: do you realize the amount of things that are wrong with what you wrote? He must declare the truth about the procedure but, even though it doesn't work he should be able to offer it no problem. And yes, people should be aware of this. Like I said before.... We as a community should build a wiki for Franktalk

It is working with the pills? If so, what pills are you taking?
