Do pills stop working eventually?

Postby 25yoandthissucks » Fri Dec 18, 2020 11:47 pm

So i tried viagra and to my surprise it worked pretty well... the one worry i have now is if the pills will stop working eventually, or if it will cause some damage to my system that can’t be reversed... does anyone have any insight?

If it matters, i have ed due to some nerve or muscular issues in my lower abs...

What I have heard from doctors is that the effects of the pills (increased bloodflow to the penis) don't eventually stop working, however for most men the ED condition becomes worse over time, causing the pills to achieve a lesser erection even though they're still doing their job.
Early 30s with ED for years from penis enlargement stretching and jelqing. Implant by Dr Eid on 24 June 2021 with a Titan 24cm with +1cm RTE on one side and -1cm cut off on the other side

Every man is different so what works for one guy may not for another. For me, the pills stopped working meaning use did not produce a hard enough erection for sex. So, I went to injections which worked for 2 to 3 years but then their effectiveness failed.

In May of this year I had an implant. So far it’s been a great decision. No more waiting until the pills kick in or sticking needles in my penis.

I love it and wish I did it 10 years ago.
Age 72, married 36 years. Tried pills, vacuum device, injections all failed eventually. Titan Coloplast 26cm implanted May 2020, Dr. Raphael Carrion, USF.

Pills worked pretty well for me for about 5 years, and then became less effective and finally quit altogether. There are plenty of similar stories here on FrankTalk.

For some people they keep working and working. For others they become less effective over time.

No one can say what your experience will be. So just proceed and enjoy. Know that if they DO become less effective there are other medications and modalities of treatment.

They stopped working for me.
Although I also heard from a consultant urologist that it's more the case that your penis health deteriorates over time, and that's why the pills are no longer able to produce erections. So perhaps tolerance does not build.

I'm not convinced by this theory. I may try the pills again after almost 2 years without them. If resistance had build in my system then one would expect that the pills would now work, given such a long period without use.

My understand is that it is certainly permanent, and often seems to get worse with time.

I have never heard of venous leak being cured.
