No, I am not worried about needing revision surgeries in the future. I am worried about losing any more time to the insidious disease known as ED.

Despite expressing this sentiment to them, I have had a couple urologists try to discourage me from having the implant at my age because it will mean multiple surgeries.

I think there are two things going on here. One, they are not confident in their surgical skill and do not want to screw up a relatively young man's penis. Two, because their dicks still work, they cannot appreciate the tremendous psychological cost of doing nothing. They discount this and focus on the risks entailed by multiple surgeries.

OK, I understand there is some risk there. But if I do nothing, it is GUARANTEED that I will be miserable and miss out on years of good sex.

I'll cross the revision bridge when I come to it.

I really get your points guys. My fear is to be 50yo and having my Dr to say, "I'm sorry I cannot put you another implant, your penis is fucked because of all the implants you've had". I don't even actually know if this can even happen but having in mind that I need a reconstruction surgery plus implant makes me think that.

Maybe it's just my internal fear, but I can do nothing against it, I just need to find the best solution to my peyronie to have a working penis.

I had a conversation with a urologist who implanted a man just months before Viagra became available. The man would have been an ideal candidate for the oral medication, but because Viagra was not available had surgery that forever destroyed his chances for natural (pharmaceutically aided) erection in exchange for an implant-erection. Years later, this unfortunate sequence of events still bothered him (the urologist).

Getting a radical and irreversible surgery that precludes better treatments that are or soon will be available (before the surgery is absolutely necessary) is inadvisable. (I was going to use the word "crazy", but that seemed unnecessarily hyperbolic.)

On the other hand, an implant, though an imperfect solution, is a pretty good one. Delaying in the hope of a better solution wastes a lot of time in which you might be having some pretty good sex, establishing a relationship, getting on with life. Not that a sexless life is worthless (and one must also note that good sex can still be had even without a working penis).

That’s what I’m afraid of. Doctors coming out with a new procedure to fix penile venous leakage after I got an implant. IMO nothing can beat the feeling of a natural erection. I don’t want to have to get a Penile implant, but when i turn 35 I’m getting one. I’m 28 now.

Do injections work on you?

What is the concern with 3-4 revisions? Is it possible infection at every operation?

I got implanted at 24 and regret nothing. There were some complications during the operation (scar tissue, AMS CXR) that might have been averted had I gone for the operation sooner. Overall I am happy, I am partly looking forward to a revision because you get upsized and a newer model of implant. Dont forget that with time the implants will only get better.

The replacement implant is not ALWAYS larger than the previous one (though downsizing an implant that was properly sized in the first place is pretty much unheard of).

Note that upsizing the implant in the revision does not always mean upsizing your penis. If the new implant goes deeper into your crus or deeper into your glans than the previous one you may well end up with the same size usable penis length. The phenomenon of upsizing the implant length has been well established, but now the medical journals are just starting to look at what that means for actual penis length (which is a bit more difficult to measure).

Very likely you will see some increase in length (and girth, too), but unlikely to be as much as the increase in implant size.

Still, something to look forward to.

What are the length and girth size measurements of your penis with the implant?
