What kind of vein caused the problem? Crural vein?

Professor Allaire works for this hospital:

And this site provides different informations:
https://www.american-hospital.org/en/tr ... bolization

- Locale anesthesia (you are conscious during the surgery)
- No visible scar
- Patients can usually go home the same day

"The cost of venous leak embolization is covered by Assurance Maladie, the French national health insurance"

A guy from Germany on an other site mentioned that he had this surgery for free in Switzerland.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Do you know how many veins were embolized and how many veins were operated on and their location?
Did Dr Allaire have to cut loose and retract the penile skin to get access to the veins?
Does embolization in your case mean that some agent was put in the veins as a permanent "plug" or is the vein sclerotized?

Thank you
Anyman

It depends on your case. In the CT scan, you will have a reveal of your particular leak/leaks. In my case 4 main veins were leaked, I'm afraid I cannot tell with you more exactly.
Regarding the penile skin, I don't know what the hell happened, I just woke up with my penis as it was. In the papers says so, so you may ask him. When you are in for the surgery, you don't want to know that much, jajajaj.
In all cases you are embolized with platinum alloy coils, that I understand are malleable. This will cause a blood clot and permanent fix, also a product is put there for that. The leak itself is fixed forever, but sometimes with bad habits or for whatever reason, other leaks create. This is the study with highest success rate ever, due to many approaches, and individualization, etc.
If you can handle erections and results are good for 6 months, you will keep them at least for 5 years(oldest patient is still in 7 years), doctor told me in a call .Recessions are rare he told me. That made me decide for this method.
If you need more details, the process is explained in the paper.

Hello, yes:
My case were both sides of deep dorsal vein. Cannot tell you more. There were 4 leaks, I don't know the exact names for those veins.

The venous leak embolization, by itself it's very rare for itself to last for a very long period like 5 years. The surgery is done not in that one, but in Geoffroy Saint-Hillaire Hospital, the other hospital he works for.
The embolization via femoral vein is the simple and less invasive approach. For some patients, is enough, but when the leak is big I think the combined surgery is the best to opt for, by now.

Regarding the insurance, I should have informed myself more, in Spain we have some papers to ask for European procedure, but I wanted to solve this for this summer, and maybe it would have taken too long. I'm about to try one money return papers for European procedures, but have to be justified with bills and may take even more time, or even be rejected. But well, it's not one of my priorities right now.

Probably the case of the guy in Switzerland, I would have done the same in Seville, but I wasn't the ideal patient. That only solved superficial venous leakges, not deep.

Bad news: I feel like I am again at square one, I have difficulties w/ having and mantaining erections even with 5mg tadalafil. It feels so bad... So yes, I am gonna have a doppler test to evaluate the shit again and then a consultation about the next step.
My next options are: re-intervention which I'll discuss with Dr. Allaire, and the implant, if nothing works.
A hope can be that I'm still 'recovering' and my venous system is still adapting to new changes, but I doubt it, I think it is too optimistic considering the 3 have already passed.
