My Dr. did not spare nerves on my right side due to the lump he could feel there. The nerves never came back in several years. Implant was the solution after trying everything. However...after my implant (peno scrotal horizontal incision) the entire underside of my penis from head to scar was totally numb. Dead to the touch. My Dr. said he had never seen that. Really? Anyway, after 9 months the feeling is BACK. I am normal or near normal now. Proving some nerves do grow back. The underside feels normal as before. As a side effect, orgasms while having the numbness were 50/50. Now they are 100%. So the incision did cut some nerves and the nerves did affect orgasms, but all is normal now.

Start out with a TENS machine (cheap) to learn the process. No erection needed to get an orgasm.

In addition to my post above, I have had stem cells. The stem cell therapy trial was dropped because no difference was noted from the control group. The idea was stem cells can turn into any type cell for rejuvination plus speed healing. It is also VERY expensive. Around $7,000 plus doctor/hospital fees. MRI or CT scan, I forget which one, we looked at the pictures of my nerves, showed the ends had fallen down into the bottom of my pelvic floor. They had clips on the ends of them. The clips were also visible on xray. That substantially increases the distance they are separated and negates any chance of growing back. I was told that most nerve sparing surgeries spare only one nerve, the other is severed and substantial damage usually occurs to the remaining nerve. Research the CDC website. I lists ED as being in the 90 percentile 3 years after a prostatectomy. I discussed a doctor in Mississippi or Alabama with one man after my prostatectomy in 2009. He said his urologist always had a nerve specialist on hand for the prostatectomy. He opened, removed the prostate, nerve doctor would do a sural nerve graft (sp?) then he would close. Insurance did not pay for the nerve procedure though.

That's great that the feeling is back. I currently have very little sensation and it has been 6 months. Did you only have loss of sensation in the one place or all over? Did you have full sensation back at 9 months? What did yoy do (if anything) to get it back? I have had a lot of surgery and I am really hoping that I get some sensation back.
